I have experienced both ...... about 3 years of physical and about another 3 of mental seperately/ as far as I am concerned the mental one is worse but that is just me and I might be biased

in case you have misunderstood I was the victim in both cases

Both just as bad as each other. Cuts and bruises heal but the mental scars remain.

As a matter of fact, psychological research shows that both kinds of abuse are registered the same way in the brain.

When we are socially rejected (mental abuse), we experience increased activity in the dorsal anterior cingulate cortex (dACC) and the right ventral prefrontal cortex (rvPFC) areas of the brain. This same increase in activity is also seen when we experience physical pain.

So physical and mental abuse are both bad. One is not necessarily worse than the other.
We Super Saiyans are in a league of our own.

Sidetracking aside, I could almost say that I mentally abuse myself, because whenever I have a mental issue I make it worse by thinking too much. When I was on heavier medication than now, I used to not take medication and wait for the body to react badly. I sort of enjoyed it and that's also abuse. Not sure how else I can explain it.

Yep, I've suffered mental abuse from another person and both mental and physical abuse from myself. It was pretty horrible. I can't imagine anything worse, really. I can't even begin to image what mental abuse coupled with physical abuse from another person would feel like.

I'd rather suffer from mental abuse over physical, because, speaking from experience, physical abuse sucks a lot more.

It truly was a Shawshank redemption

I can only echo what's been previously said in that neither one is preferable over the other. The only thing that could be said is that mental abuse usually goes hand in hand with people who commit physical abuse, so in that case you're experiencing both, but if considering them both separately then neither one is worse than the other. Both suck balls.

They both suck in different ways. Which ever one is worse depends on up to what extend you've been abused.
Also keep in mind that physical abuse scars you mentally as well
