Would you rather bike than drive in the future?

If they made bikes that somehow at least doubled your travel speed I'd never get a car but of course depending on distance they don't always get you to where you need to go in record time.

And seats that inject painkillers in your butt cheeks because OW after a long cycle.
I don't think that would be a good idea. The speed we have for cyclists right now is totally normal. Anything faster than that can increase the chances of an accident or injury.
Well of course but I'm sure people would get used to it there's a lot more sensory feedback than in a car so I don't think it'd be that difficult. Plus there'd probably be a lot less drivers after the advent of such a wonderful technology.

So long as you could use gears and go down to normal bike speed.
I think they already have one though. I think they're called motor bikes (not motorcycles). I've seen them around the streets before.

Not gonna happen for me, weather and needing to travel long distances assures that.

Yeah I know what you mean they have a dynamo thing on them for it to go by itself for a while if you build up energy they're pretty cool but not that fast really least not from what I've seen.

My husband has an average commute time of about an hour, that was the closest we could get to his work for an apartment. Most of that is highway driving (65+ mph speed limit). I hate to think of how long that would be on a bike.

Yes, I would prefer to ride a bike if the weather were always nice and if work wasn't far away and if everyone else rode bikes or at least were responsible drivers. I witnessed an accident where a person in an SUV wasn't paying attention and t-boned a cyclist who had the right of way. I don't think you want the details of that experience. Because of that I will always pick a car over a bicycle, no matter how much I wish I didn't have to.
Spoiler: click to toggle

A bicycle bridge to get to far away locations one day would be nice.
