Cell complemented Trunks and told him that his power had surpassed, but later said that it still wouldn't be enough is beca`use the affects his speed and mobility due his bully muscles. In terms out power out, is USSJ just as powerful`as SSJ2. |

No way, man. Trust me, I was under the same impression few years ago. Just NO! Cell was heavily suppressed & if you read the manga, Cell was only serious against Goku. Who was nothing when compared to Perfect Cell's Full-Power & Trunks was singing praises of FPSSJ Goku. Without the speed problem & bulky body, USSJ may be about/superior to FPSSJ. But no way nearing SSj2. |

I sorta view ASSJ and USSJ as inferior powerups compared to SSJ2, both in power and speed. |

This is how I've come to view it. Both the Grade forms and Super Saiyan 2 are tapping into the same reserve of "beyond Super Saiyan" power, and the upper limit of power for both versions is the same, the roughly "SS1 x2" power that Super Saiyan 2 grants. But the Grade forms do it in a flawed way, so they bring severe drawbacks along with the power. |

So your saying 2nd Grade = SSJ2 in power only with stamina/ki loss? |

No, Grade THREE (which is at the "upper limit" I mentioned) has the same amount of raw power as Super Saiyan 2, but with the obvious stamina and speed loss. Grade Two would fall somewhere in between that and regular Super Saiyan 1, and grants a balance of extra power and speed in exchange for some stamina drain and stress.
Well Gohan was already a lot more powerful overall than Trunks was BEFORE he went Super Saiyan 2, and even if not, any equal-powers battle between an SS Grade 3 and an SS2 is going to be won by the latter. |

IDK about that, I view the Grade forms (along with LSSJ if were counting non-canon stuff) to all be inferior to SSJ2 mainly cause their only extensions to the original SSJ form where as SSJ2 is a new form all together. |

Well I guess that's the difference... All of the above were treated and labeled as forms and levels of power "beyond Super Saiyan," but Super Saiyan 2 was what happened when someone finally did it the "correct" way. So I just treat them all (Grade 3, LSS, SS2) as just different manifestations of the same power. It works. |

I agree with Kaboom. "Super Saiyan 2" was a name coined by Goku, it doesn't really tell us that it's a completely different source of power. In fact I believe it's still considered to be ascending the Super Saiyan wall, which is exactly what the grade forms did. When Majin Vegeta and Goku were fighting, Gohan noted that they must be fighting "beyond the Super Saiyan limits" (Viz), which is pretty much what the grade forms did. SSJ 2 is just the correct application of the ascension. |

I guess we can agree to disagree. Personally, I just see SSJ2 as completely transcending the SSJ wall where as the other forms only get a certain distance up the wall. USSJ being equal to SSJ2 in strength works well though. |

Trunks wet himself when he felt Goku's power. For this to work, you'd have to put the SSJ2 multiplier sinfully low so that he's weaker than 50% MSSJ Goku, but still a decent power-up from ASSJ And for all Trunks knew, Goku was using USSJ, he didn't see him or any sort of speed loss. |

Goku was only stated to outstrip everyone when he used his full power. Also I believe the Grade forms radiate a different type of ki as Piccolo was able to tell that Vegeta was transforming. |

Or you could just have Grade 2 Trunks that much weaker than 50% Goku. Still, Trunks wetting himself shouldn't mean much as far as his Grade 3 form goes; Vegeta wet himself against initial Cell, even though he also unlocked Grade 3, because Grade 3 is useless in battle. (And I think people are saying that the SSJ ---> Grade 3 boost is the same as the SSJ2 boost, not the Grade 2 ---> Grade 3 boost). We know for a fact that he wasn't thinking that, actually. Trunks: “S-so then…When they fight, they’ll [perform] an ev-even more tremendous transformation…!” Vegeta: “Are you an idiot?...You don’t seem to think things over…They’ve judged that state as the best! If they get used to that as a matter of habit, then even if they raise their battle power, the strain on their body is very small! [ ] They’ve thought this through…” Or it could just be that your chi spikes/fluctuations/whatever are different when transforming compared to when you're just powering up. Post whatever Piccolo said, will you? Not seeing anything in the SC. Edited by Kyouks, Oct 20 2014, 02:55 AM.
