So they've revealed who Archer is now, but I know already lol. Good episode this week, Saber is back<3

Are there more routes after this one?

There's the first route which is what the anime back in like 2006 or whatever was on, this one, and then Heaven's Feel which is being adapted into movies.

Yeah good episode this time. Gil fighting Archer would have been nice. Either way with Lancer coming in too the incoming fights are bound to be epic.

So now, the match has been set. The battle between Emiya Shirou and the very ideal he wished to created, hated and scorned through out his entire existence. The Epic Hero Emiya. Even began playing mother***ing "Emiya" during the end. Unless you've read the VN, this wouldn't mean much to any of you, but this is like one of the single most well known themes in the entire Novel.

For us VN fans, this was a huge build up and it was great to hear it at long last in the story. I'm expecting it to play it even more so during the next episode.

It was also nice seeing Lancer punch Shinji.

Yeah I don't have as much hype as an anime watcher. I'm more interested in what Kirei is up to. Confused as to why he'd make Lancer kill himself (that's two for two now isn't it, I feel like there's some symbolism here with Lancers), but I imagine the explanation will be fairly simple.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Riiiight...

So, is Archer basically Emiya of the future or what? That means when he comes from Emiya survived this war which would also mean he already had this fight and won presumably.

I'm confused. Why does he have a different eye colour and skin tone? Or is it more like he passed his ideal on and created a hero of justice through a student or whatever, same as how Kiritsugu made Emiya feel that way?

I feel like I've missed an episode or something.

Lancer was awesome, of course he gets killed >.>

I guess Kirei reckons whoever wins out of Archer and Emiya Archer dies regardless and he can kill Rin whenever so Saber retires too. Leaving Gilgamesh the victor only...why?
Wonder what Shinji's wish is if for some reason Kirei aims for that.

Archer basically fell down into the same path that Kiritsugu did. He wanted to save a lot of people and make them happy yet ended up doing far more harm than good on a personal level. In the end, just as Kiritsugu was betrayed his ideals, so was Archer. It basically made him nihilistic and hateful of his own ideals and thus that's his whole reason for trying to kill Shirou. If only by some miracle, just to one little miracle, he wants create a world where this ideology never comes to pass.

That's the difference between him and Shirou. Shirou still remains idealistic that his dreams and desires can come true while Archer remains cynical and wants to do anything he can to keep them from happening. As I said, Archer is literally following the same dream that Kiritsugu did.

Archer has a different appearance from Shirou because of he's constantly being using his magecraft throughout his life so that his hair and skin color has changed.

Also...Shinji? Lol...here's the thing about this little s***.

He's not even supposed to be here. And by that I mean...he wasn't even one of the original master's. I'll let you ponder that for a bit.

I mean because Shinji is Gil's master so will it be so plain as they kill him?

I wonder what the dudes wish could be, suppose this could be very different from any of the VN's. That'd be kinda cool like how Game of Thrones changes things from the books to keep it interesting.

Not really a fan of how it's just chucked in this concept of Heroic Spirits being able to come from the future, it's a cool idea but we shouldn't just be learning about it now.
Yes it would somewhat ruin the reveal if we could already think maybe he's Shirou but just...blehh.

Why haven't we seen a Heroic Spirit with laser guns and s***

The next episode has been aired and Lancer gets to show how bro he really is. All hail Lancer, Broest of Bros.

We also get to see the first part of the epic battle between Shirou and Archer, with some great visual effects. Thank you Ufotable.

Decent episode anyway if a little cliché, nice OST and animation there.

Wonder what the heck Gil is doing...

Gilgamesh is not less interesting without him, Gilgamesh is perfectly fine on his own and has always been that way.

Shinji got straight f***ed up this episode haha thank god, I f***ing hate him.
