 Boring episode... They wasted too much time on the backstory. Didn't live up to hype of battle of legend title.

@Steve give it time, it'll get better.

 You need background somewhere. They cant just kill her off without saying a word and if they did it after the fact, that'd be stupid.
I was surprised that she did die though, I thought Emiya and Rin were going to save her.

That animation was amazing though, with Gilgamesh's Gate of Babylon. I was orgasming the entire time.

 Berserker didn't really stand a chance, especially when he's protecting Illya. Gilgamesh is quite literally the single most powerful servant in the series and one of the single most powerful characters in the entire Nasuverse. They guy is literally stated to be able to win the entire 4th War in a single day.

The Gate of Babylon contains the original weaponry of every single fighter that has been and will be and in the Nasuverse, the older the legends, the stronger the weapon and hero. This it he reason why Gilgamesh is so haxed. He's basically the original, the very first Epic Hero who has literally every single weapon in existence.

And when I say every weapon, I do literally mean every single weapon. If you went 60,000 years into the future and you got some space ripping, time traveling sword. Gilgamesh literally has the original version of that weapon. In short, all weapons that exist in the world find their origin in his vault and we've seen a few of these amazing weapons as well.

You have his airship Viama. Enkidu, the Chains of Heaven which can bind even the most powerful of gods and of course his legendary Anti-World sword Ea. He literally has everything and its quite easy for him to break through Berserker's Noble Phantasm.

But this isn't to put Heracles out of the question either. The first thing that must be noted is that Heracles literally willed himself back into existence after dying. All of his Lives were completely gone. Despite this he still managed to come back. His next moment of sheer insanity is breaking The Chains of Heaven. You people understand that this isn't a testament of Heracles' power.

This is like someone dividing by zero...and succeeding. The guy literally said "screw you" to the laws of physics.

 Is Kiritsugu really dead? I'm finding it a lot less interesting without him.

Was excited for Kirei and him to have another fight like Kirei said they would(well, meet)


I miss the more tactics focused nature of Zero these kids so far are just kind of blundering about wasting command seals like nobodies business.

Character development is poor too currently on episode 10 and it's just all been about Emiya and Tohsaka pretty much. Perhaps that changes I guess.

Zero felt like an intense strategic war, this to me just feels like a stroll in the park with the occasional battle.


Is this set to have another season like Zero? Maybe it will pick up.
Not going to drop it or anything and it is interesting but meh, not doing much for me. Pretty much just want to see Gilgamesh do stuff because he's actually interesting.

 I'm not not enjoying it just not nearly as much as Zero.

I'm confused now though...


Caught up with Night on Crunchyroll which is at episode 15.
But on this not so legal site there's Unlimited Blade Works which has an ongoing season 2.

Watched the first episode and it was identical, so far as I remember to Night.

But in the credits of Night on Crunchyroll it says Unlimited Blade Works :o_O:


Is there even a point to watching this one with a season 2? It seems exactly the same guess I could just skip bits until there are differences?

It's like this also:

Fate/stay Night this is the old series
Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works done 24 episodes.
Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works 2nd Season ongoing 3 episodes.
Fate/zero done obviously.

There isn't a Night series that matches the one airing on Crunchyroll and there's no reason why this site wouldn't have it specifically.


Are there 3 Unlimited Blade Works series, two currently ongoing?

Wait what? Okay, this is what it is in terms of Anime (putting it in chronological order in terms of the series timeline)

Fate/Zero
Fate/Stay Night (2006): This is the DEEN adaption of the Fate route of the visual Novel. It's pretty poorly received (I haven't seen it though so can't comment).
Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works Movie (2010): A movie of the Unlimited Blade Works Route. It's terrible, basically condenses what the current series is doing in 24 episodes in to a movie. Yikes.
Fate/Stay Night Unlimited Blade Works (2014): The current Ufotable adaption. Currently has 15 episodes out (well 16 with episode 0).
Fate/Stay Night Heavens Feel: Movies of the Heavens Feel route of the Visual Novel. Not out yet, coming this year IIRC.

Then there's other works related to F/SN (like the Illya spinoff and Carnival Phantasm) but they're a different thing.

So there's only two Stay Night anime series, the old 2006 one and the currently airing one. Because the series aired as a split cour, some people class the first 13 episodes as season 1 and the second 13 as season 2 so that's probably where you got confused.

 Ahh, Crunchyroll doesn't have it split up in to season tabs unlike the other site guess it is that then :rofl:


I wonder how the hell they're going to deal with Gilgamesh? Heracles was clearly the only slight threat to him.
Maybe boss man Kirei will get pissed off with him and sort him out.

It would be hilarious if he just wins again.

 I should probably do some explaining. As you know, F/SN has 3 routes Fate, Unlimited Blade Works and Heaven's Feel. Each route starts off with the same scenario but ultimately branches out into different paths to create new and unique stories that effect the plot and characters.

He's had 10 years of training is PL has probably quinquagupled. His power is maximum.


But yeah how the f*** will they do anything doubtful anyone will be as interesting to him as Kirei was and make him give up the Grail nevermind fight him.
So far nobody with as great a tactical mind as Kiritsugu is around either, unless he did just fake his death but it doesn't seem like it.

 Are there more routes after this one? I want to see the story from a different angle like seeing it mostly from the path of someone evil or...just not Saber again at least Saber as in Arturia.

An Assassins point of view could be cool, they haven't got much love so far.
