So, I woke up this morning to find that chaospunishment uploaded the theme for the Xenoverse title screen: Xenoverse Title Theme Do any of you notice a striking resemblance to Metallica's No Leaf Clover? You think Yamamoto would have learned by now: No Leaf Clover: by Metallica Edited by ThePrinceOfSaiyans, Sep 18 2014, 01:05 PM.

Beats me. At least Yamamoto's other track were a bit more subtle. This song is practically a cover. |

Why Metallica? They're lawsuit-happy people, or did he forget about Napster? |

Yamamoto's Kai soundtrack is awesome. I can't see what the issue with his compositions was, because other artists have mimicked others in far more similar a fashion than he did, and people don't hold it against them: The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, both wrote their own versions of other people's songs, and in their cases, their versions sound a lot closer to the originals than Yamamoto's compositions do to the tracks they're sort of based off of. I think people took made too big a fuss regarding Yamamoto's music, when there really wasn't anything noteworthy about what he was doing. It certainly wasn't illegal - both because his versions were not ripping off complete meolodies, but rather overall style, and also because the tracks he was mimicking, at least the ones I'm aware of, aren't protected by copyright law anymore, as they're beyond the 70 year period which a musical work is protected, and are public domain at this time. I think Yamamoto's removal from the DB team is a huge loss. His music is superb, and his Kai soundtrack is one of the greatest soundtracks in visual media. His removal was reactive to fan perception of the matter, and not based in merit or understanding of the actual legal and artistic significance of the matter. In both those areas, I think Yamamoto is in the clear. |

Think he overestimates the unpopularity of the unoriginal games he puts his music in. Only explanation. |
