My Dear Melancholy,

I've never finished GT before....sadly. I've only experience it via the Tenkaichi series. So...um...let's get started? Sorry not much of a talker.

Basic info:
English Dub w/ subtitles and original BGM
I'm using the GT box set.
1 episode a week for Super 17 and 2 episode a week for the Dragons!

So I've only done one review before so I probably going be bad at it. Let's begin!

A Hero's Legacy:
The first thing I realize when watching this. Is Android 17 and 18 alive? I don't mind Pan being the last survivor but I wonder why a 100 years? The Z fighters was already very old. I would love to see Bulla, Goten, Marron, Uub, and Trunks. Pan as wonderful as she is (my favorite character in GT), I want to see other characters as well. Also why did it take so long for a Goku Jr? Goten or Pan children should had a Goku Jr. They was probably all girls.

Jr reminds me of Gohan instantly. Pan plays the role of Piccolo in a way. But it seems Jr isn't a talented as Videl in the first 7 minutes. It sucks that he was bullied though. I can relate to that. But I wished Pan beat up the bullies. What's depressing is that Pan like Goku with Gohan expected Jr to have great potential but sadly he doesn't show it. Goku realize this but Pan loses control and has a heart attack.

Next Goku goes out in his journey for DB...remind you. Dragonball. Not balls. He in one of my favorite scenes in the franchise owns his bullies. Just awesome. Already loving this special.

After a long walk, Goku Jr. realizes that Mount Paozu is too far and would take forever to reach by foot. Luckily at that time a man(who I named Aglue) driving an 18-wheeler stops and asks whether he wants a lift. Goku Jr. happily gets into the truck and they head off. The truck has a poster of a burger on the outside but is filled with garbage from the inside. Both Goku Jr. and the driver are hungry and the driver has nothing to eat. They stop at the Star Mark Service Stand. He tricks Goku Jr. by saying that Goku Jr. should go to the toilet before they head off. Once Goku Jr. is outside the truck he takes Goku Jr.'s food and leaves him stranded with only his empty bag. What a prick he was. Stealing food from a "baby". Yes I did C/P this

Puck shows up. Why was he following Goku? How was he following Goku? Puck is Yajroibe decedent. You heard it from Tinesha Day. Apprantly Goku Sr, old house have demons of sorts that eat humans. Only Dragonball man..only Db. Puck bonds with Goku and they travel. This involves wolves and Zangya's Sister. I'm joking. This special is so superior to the others IMO. I love it. Kinda jumped ahead but she was a human lady first than a demon named Mamba.

Goku Jr. tells Puck there is something fishy about the pretty girl who helped them. Jr learning his lesson faster than Sr. Never trust everyone. Not grammatically correct probably. Mamba finds the two missing. She caught Goku Jr. with her hair which she could use as a weapon and began to constrict his neck.

Goku Jr does another cool scene. He does a ki blast by accident which looked very cliche to the point it was good. Puck gets Goku and they tail rail out of there. They get onto the bridge. Jr made me upset at the fact he couldn't cross it but I feel for the boy. I don't like when Mommy drives the bay bridge. Scary stuff right there. Of course this leads to Puck "death".

Jr then encounter a demon king. The third one of the series. The King attacks the bear and Goku doesn't fight. Then Goku goes SsJ and fight. I sorta wished Puck died and Goku turnt ssj by that. But hey I'm not a professional writing. Toei knows what they're doing. I trust them. They've never made a bad DB movie before. BTW I skipped the earlier demon fight when Jr met the Mom/Dad bear.

In the end, he found Goku's residence and began to search for the Dragon Ball. After a short search, he got the 4 star ball. He came outside and began to wish the dragon for his grandma's recovery and Puck's revival. Nothing happened. After repeatedly pleading Shenron, he lost his temper and threw the ball away, which landed near Goku Sr., who then explained to Goku Jr. that he has to collect all seven Dragon Balls for his wish to come true. Why didn't Pan tell him? Also Goku is a 5 time great grandpa right? I suck at math. English is a better subject.

Everything turns out okay as Pan is healed and Puck is okay. This seems rushed but I love happy endings. Did Goku grant the wish? Was a wish granted? I got questions but I know it's just theories. Is Dende wrinkle as Kami now? The DBS are active so Dende is alive. Is Roshi alive!? The Turtle? I wish more characters appeared in cameos.

I got some notes. The color scheme seems a mixture of GT and Z. As Goku seems pale here compare to Tan. Which is strange. I've seen the last GT scene and Goku is Tan there. Puck surviving just proves my Yajroibe theory. Goku headband looks way to similar to Bardock. Toei just made him a fusion of the three popular Saiyans.

My grades:
Plot B +. Had some flaws but it's a great story to follow.
Music - no grade. I have no opinions despite the hard work put into it.
Characters - C. Jr is a Gohan copy sadly. He's a more wimpy version of him. The other characters were generic honestly. I'm sure Toei had great ideas though. Goku was awesome as always.
Overall B-.
Enjoyment - A+

I don't get the GT bashing. This was awesome. I love it. Favorite special. I rank it higher than Battle of Gods in terms of how much I enjoyed it. Can someone explain the hate for this special and Gt in general. I was told by many(Blingman121v3, Smash, Cosmic, and MK) not to waste my time on GT.

Next week we discuss the first episode of Super 17 Saga! Can't wait. If it matches up to this special I'm in for a treat!

I myself am going through the series in Japanese right now. I'm on Episode 5 right now, and I forgot how freaking adorable Pan is in the Japanese version.

My Dear Melancholy,

She's not bad in English either. I still can't understand GT hate. Oh well. Guess just like IRL I'm an outsider. I do miss the Z music in GT and I personally don't think DAN DAN should be used for Db. Wonderful song it is. However it makes me want to call someone to say I <3 you. Not the feeling I get from DB.

Funny, I'm actually trying to finish GT this time around.. I'm on Episode 5, I think. I've watched farther than that previously, I'm just rewatching all of it to refresh my memory. Hopefully I'll actually finish watching it..

I remember watching the Blue Water Dub that aired back in 2003-2005, good times.

For some reason, GT was a lot better the first time I watched it. Not that I don't like it now, I just liked it better when I was a kid for some reason

Still, the Bebi Arc always kicked a**. IMO, Bebi could have been a great villian in Z.

It's difficult for me to watch because it bores me at some parts. Can't remember what arc I made it to.. Think it was the beginning of the Baby (Think that's his name?) Arc.

My Dear Melancholy,

Blue Water Dub? First I see Ocean Dub for Dbz on YouTube. Now I'm hearing Blue Water from Urameshi. Only DB....only Db. Makes me wonder if Kai or Dragonball also have so many dubs.

Blue Water was a different company from Ocean that was based in Alberta that dubbed both DBGT and the original DB back in 2003-2005.

The dub aired in Canada, the UK, and other English speaking countries other than America and Australia which recieved the FUNi dub.

That Blue Water opening was amazing. I think it's a hell of a lot better than what Funimation managed to throw together.

"In another time and space, scattered all across the place. We got to find them all. Got to find those Dragonballs, Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball GT!"

Ye, me liked that opening a lot whem I was a kid. It got nothing on Dan Dan Kokoro Hikareteku of course but it sure blows that garbage rap theme out of the water. Imma go watch it again right now lol.

I liked SSJ4 Goku's voice in the dub, it was so badass.
