Compared to in the past, how much more (or less) severe is the turmoil currently going on? When I say in the past, I'm talking about in the last 50 years. Because I've been on the news lately, and much of it is turmoil related. I'm aware this has to do with the media being more involved in crisis, but I'm just curious if things are different now than they were before. |

I think we have less forests than ever and we've made a bunch of animals extinct. Sea levels are rising and the planet is getting warmer. Meat distribution is reaching a critical level. If populations keep increasing as they are then we might not be able to feed everyone. On the political side of things we're general more peaceful than ever. No European wars for decades. Very little conflict happening in Africa save for one or two nations. Asia's peaceful right now. The middle East will probably be sorted out within twenty years as well. You might see political upheaval in the USA if it carries on as it is. Seems to be a lot of discontentedness with the system right now. Unlikely to result in full on civil war of course. I think the biggest problems are how to feed and house the growing populations without further ruining the Earth, especially in Asia. Of course we could all be killed by a Supernova or a meteor at any minute. I worry more about that than anything. Well that and Terminators. |

The crisis in the middle east has been on going for many years, back from before I was born, so that shows no sign of ending, with the Ukraine-Russia stuff going on, might be creating another cold war atmosphere between the West and Russia, so from 50 years ago on the global scale of conflict, I'd say not much has changed. What has changed is that more people are concerned about environmental impacts than they used to be, to there are ongoing efforts to stop global warming. |

Planet Earth is in no impeding danger. Humanity however is headed for annihilation unless we can put to rest our differences and instead focus on a common enemy. Aliens. |
