The man most of us know best as John Hammond, the elderly, loving (kinda different from the novel) head of the failed Jurassic Park wildlife preserve from the classic '93 movie, and its "meh" sequel, died yesterday at 90.

He may have warmed your hearts as a loving jolly old Saint Nick from the Miracle on 34th Street remake.

You may have been amazing by his great works as a director.

With Ghandi.

Peace in india not your thing? In mood for a laugh?

How about Chaplin?

The world has lost a kind and wonderful man, just a week or so after loosing another.

Why is the world doing this to me? First Paul Walker, then Robin Williams, and now Richard Attenborough!

I hope they spared no expense for his passing, at least. :'(

Crazy Awesome Legend

If I'm right then his brother is David Attenborough the wildlife film maker. So I don't think they're short of a penny or two.

I had no idea he directed Chaplin. That was a good film. I was somewhat moved by the ending. At least he died a good age and lived a good life.

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the war room!"

I was sad. I didn't see too many of his movies, but it is always tragic when legends die.

He lived a full life, gave joy with his movies and died an old man. He will always be remembered as one of the greats. Rest in peace, sweet old man.
