I personally don't really see any real difference in the art design in Kai. Part of the reason being that it wasn't re-animated, it was simply cleaned up (auras aside). But it also looks strange having computer colored cel artwork, when the animation style is completely inconsistent from episode to episode anyway. |

The dialogue and voice acting of Funi's Kai dub is far superior to their dub of Z. I much prefer to watch english Kai than the original Funi dub, but if I'm watching it subbed, I'll watch the original Z over Japanese Kai. |

Not to start a dub war, but how is the music better? I can understand how you'd like listening to it outside the show, I mean Faulconer has produced some good tunes at face value, but within the context of the show, they don't fit very often. Goku's SSJ3 theme, for example, sounds great as a piece of music, but it doesn't fit the scene it's used in. Goku's SSJ3 ascension was supposed to give off this sense of danger. Instead the SSJ3 gives off a heroic, high energy vibe. It sounds kinda silly when the Earth is shaking and people are telling Goku to stop. As for Gohan's voice, I'd have to ask the same question; how is it better? Nadolny sounded like a gruff 15 year old teenager more-so than a 10 year old boy. Colleen definitely captures the 10 year old boy vibe that Nadolny is missing. |

You cant tell someone music is better or worse, that's all opinion based. There is no fact that says that either score is better. |

Colleen made Gohan actually sound like a little boy. I liked how Kai got rid of the annoying filler. I liked some of the filler, but it wasn't good most of the time. The new voices were great, though Frieza still sounded a bit female to me, it was an improvement over Frieza's old voice. The art is the same. It really doesn't look that different, in my opinion. |

But at least the original z script had some powerful, fun, and CLASSIC lines to it. All of them are ruined by the Kai dub. Example: "IF THEY SET THAT ANDROID FREE, IT WILL BE THE END OF ALL OF US! NOOOOOO!!!!" Que Faulconer and goddamn, you have a great moment. In the Kai dub? "You're not setting another android free, not so long as I'm around to stop you! Hugh!" ..... BOOOOO!!!!! f***ing weak. Just rewording them and taking away all the power those lines had. "The voices are SOOOO much better!" You mean the voices of actors who have been doing this for way too long and felt they HAD to change their iconic voices into annoyingly deep or smooth versions? You mean the lost of two of the most central voice actresses from the original Z dub and the unworthy replacements. To hell with Clinkenbitch. Hate her. Her teen Gohan still sounds like a little girl. Stephanie Nadolny ANY day. "It cuts out the filler!" Can't argue with that. "The Music is better!" That half a*** replacement score Funimation tried to pass off is good? Give me Faulconer any day. |

Kai is one of the three things I truly hate from the Dragon Ball franchise... The others being Evolution and Dragon Ball Xenoverse. The laziness of it is on par with Togashism. They literally keep some of the filler while cutting some of the canon in some parts. BTW, the music really is worse than Falconer's by far. The musician actually ripped off soundtracks from other works, so he's a lazy piece of s***, too, but luckily they fired him, though, I believe. Edited by Big Green The Yoshi, Aug 23 2014, 09:04 PM.

I like Kai, I prefer it to Z. It's a lot faster paced, and it's cuts out the filler. I like some of the filler, but a lot of it I strongly dislike, so overall, it's a net positive for me. I still love Z though. Edited by Mike XL, Aug 23 2014, 09:13 PM.

I feel Colleen's hate is entirely unjustified. It's not Nadolny, so it sucks, that's all I ever really hear, other than Gohan sounds like a girl, to which I say, show me a girl that sounds like that. |

I didn't think the music was bad.. but it was forgettable :U Yeah, all the time I hear hate on Colleen and it makes me sad, especially if it's just because she's not Nadoly.. Though I wouldn't doubt there's a girl out there who sounds like that.. aha. |

The only ones complaining that Colleen's voice for Gohan sounding like a little girl are guys that forget that they themselves sounded like little girls at that age. |

Yeah, I like Clinkenbeard's performance better. She doesn't make Gohan sound like a chain smoker, which some people have said. I don't hate Nadolny's voice for Gohan, though it doesn't sound right. Honestly though I wish Kid Goku and Kid Gohan had different voices, unlike it's always been. |
