In gt, how can gohan go ssj if he had the mystic power up in the buu saga. Did he magically lose his hidden potental or didn't train. So how did he lose his mystic power up?

GT was a pretty flashy series. I suppose they thought that Gohan going super saiyan had a more dramatic appearance and used that instead.

There is no in-universe explanation for it.

Well it was never said he couldn't go super saiyan again. It was just said that it would be pointless. The DBGT Perfect Files implies that since gohan has been training, he goes super saiyan again. That's how I look at it

Well the simplest explanation as to what happened to gohan's "sleeping powers" is that they went into "sleep" again.

Its actually quite analogous to real life situation. Suppose that you were a a very good basket ball player when you were young. And then suppose you were asked again to play a match after 20 years laters with no practice or training in between the years. Then obviously you are no longer as good as you were 20 years ago. That is need to "brush" up your gameplay.

The same with gohan. He is no longer in his prime as he was when he was fighting cell or super buu.

It's stated that Gohan had been training between EoZ and GT, so he likely didn't lose it.

His Mystic power got reverted to Base and he trained from there potentially making it to Buutenks-Buuhan level in Base form.

Didn't Gohan fight pretty evenly with Rilld during Super 17 Saga though? That should put him above Gohan-Buu.

I wonder if the Budokai two theory is right, and the "Mystic Gohan" was more of a Transformation as well. Which would explain why he powers up Ultimate style while fighting Beerus and can all of the sudden turn into a Super Saiyan while helping Goku.

I dont see whats keeping his Ultimate his full power in base.

Base Gohan, post-ritual in DBZ is the exact same Gohan at the start, and for the rest of GT. He trained in between the 5-year gap of Z and GT.

He can't lose the "mystic" form because there is no new form to lose. He just got a power-up to boost his base power.

He can't lose the power/power-up because he trained during the 5 years.
