Sorry to open up a can of worms guys but I was thinking since ki is supposed to overcome physical limitations, why wouldn't ki increase fire resistance? I know there isn't any feats to show it but does it really make sense for it not to?

The Last GT Fighter

Also when Goku fought this jerk he was allegedly over 6000 K, which is indeed hotter than the sun. So if nothing else it seems to provide elemental/hear resistance.

Yeah in the anime he bathed in Lava at Princess Snake's.
In the manga (I BELIEVE. Might just be anime) he was knocked into lava by Freiza and came out unscathed, albeit he had an energy ball around him. Despite that, any human that would get CLOSE to what Goku experienced would get burned alive. He fell in without the energy shield afterall (as far as we know).

Krillin saw fit to rescue Gohan from the lava in Movie 10, not to mention the lava is what Gohan thought would kill motherf***in' Legendary Super Saiyan Broly.

Yeah, in the manga it was water.

I'm pretty sure that Goku surviving Blue's jet fire (is there a word for this that's going over my head?) is the most impressive, and seems to contradict Goku thinking 50 degrees celsius is a lot. We know he didn't have the same cold resistance at this time though since RRA Goku thought Jingle Village was unbearably cold.

Wasn't Krillin also complaining about the cold in the mountains?

Goku didn't complain about it, Trunks did.

He notes it when talking to Gohan as one of the reasons the room is so tough.

Doesn't mean he's weak to it, especially when he's taken on things much hotter and has been in there previously. Gohan on the other hand?

Why would gohan have a harder time in the rosat though? He's a hybrid and hybrids were stated to be stronger. Maybe he's just mentally weaker than goku?
