How strong is Karin?

I'd place the gap smaller than the advantage Jackie had on Yamcha.

As you can see, Jackie requires no effort to easily dodge Yamcha.

Korin is sweating bullets trying to avoid Goku and Goku is putting the pressure on him to the max.

Korin isn't much stronger than Goku Post Korin imo. Same goes for Roshi, who was a little bit weaker than Goku was.

Korin >= Goku Post Korin >= Roshi Post Korin

Chapter: 150, P13.2-4
Context: Goku asks Karin to train him more
Karin: “Unfortunately…There’s nothing more for me to teach you…[ ] Yeah…I understand how you feel, but…You’ve already acquired enough power to surpass even me”…

His wording, mates. He doesn't say "you've already greatly surpassed me". He says this as if he'd just surpassed Karin.

Keep in mind that Karin wasn't trying to fight Goku when he held the water from him. He was trying to keep the water away, which is another effort completely, especially when Goku gives it all he has. If Goku and Karin fought at that point, I think Karin would whoop him.

Do you think Yamcha could get a jug of water away from Jackie Chun?

Yes, I do.

Anyway, after looking over my numbers, I am going to agree with my past self.

Goku: 90 -> 145
Karin: 120
Krillin: 110
Roshi: 115

I doubt Yamcha could catch Jackie if Jackie could toss him out of the ring with wind.

Yea I agree. Jackie acted like Yamcha wasn't even a factor at all.

Now, Wolf Fang Fist Yamcha was able to make Jackie work a little. I think he could probably get a jug of water away from Jackie.

But Jackie vs Yamcha looked like Jackie had too easy of a time avoiding him.

I think that's still pretty debatable. While Jackie looked surprised by the wolf fang fist, it was nothing he couldn't handle. Not to mention he hadn't revealed his full strength yet.

Could argue that when Goku says "I don't know" in response to "can Karin beat Daimao," he means "I'm not sure if I've seen Karin at his best/I'm not sure what his best is," as opposed to "they're about the same, so I don't really know."

I can agree with that. I would be referring to Base Jackie. And you are right, Jackie is still at a level that Yamcha could barely see him.

Now Krillen initial for sure can get a jug of water from Base Jackie.

Agreed, if he is strong enough to make Jackie work, he's at a level where he can take the water. Goku only got it from Karin when Karin had to start putting in all of his effort.

Well that's essentially my point. The only way to get the jug from Karin is to be at a level where he really needs to work. It's no coincidence that Roshi and Goku are at a similar level to do so. That's also pretty close to Karin's level.

Agreed. So something like this?

Roshi (prime): 85
Goku (post Karin): 90
Karin: 100

How does that work? Should I lower Goku and Roshi a bit?

I don't know if they necessarily have to be that close. We do have Trunks landing a hit on Vegeta, which could be seen as a similar scenario.

Completely trying to avoid someone while not being able to threaten any offense makes thing much more difficult for the superior opponent.

Even so, Goku and Roshi shouldn't be tremendously far behind Korin... What that turns out to be numerically is anyone's guess.

It's just really hard to assume that someone like Piccolo Daimao would get his water jug stolen by King Chappa or someone like that.

Make sense?
