I own all nine seasons of them. I have looked on the internet and saw so many complaints about them. The thing is I liked them I am not picky and I have my show on dvd and that is good enough for me. Does anybody else have all 9 seasons on orange bricks.

I have the first three. I didn't even notice the lack of quality until it was pointed out to me. Probably because I was so used to my Chinese pirate copies.

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the war room!"

I own all of them as well, along with all of Kai (so far).
I also own all the Blue Bricks of Dragon Ball; however do not own the GT Green Bricks.

My biggest gripe was with the formatting. It wasn't done in the original fullscreen format, but instead was cropped to a widescreen one.

Other than that, I have no problem with them. Also I got them early in their release, so all of them have the inner booklet instead of the downloadable one.

I think people are being way too picky about them. They are so cheap to buy and you can the whole series.

I do own them as well as the Dragon Box, and I said in a thread that *I think* Clearin made that they are still the best way to own the series right now. The big gripe with the Orange Bricks is the widescreen resolution, and truth be told, it is stupid to release a 4:3 show that way. Most better quality (Pioneer, Sony, Oppo, etc.) DVD and Blu-ray players can crop 4:3 to widescreen anyway if you really want that. But, having said that, if the choice is between the price of the Dragon Box and those, I'm going orange bricks all the way.

Let me explain why, exactly:

1. The Dragon Box Japanese audio is very badly compressed, compared to the Japanese Dragon Box, at 192 kbps. That is horrible, as in Napster era .mp3 bad. The Japanese Dragon Box is already bad due to the original masters being lost, compressing it down just makes it grating on good speakers. This is one area where I strongly disagree with Kanzenshuu's review: http://www.kanzenshuu.com/reviews/funimation-dragon-box-z-dbz-tv-volume-1/ I don't know if they aren't willing to take off the nostalgia glasses, or are unwilling to criticize FUNi, but that quality is just not acceptable and I can't disagree more.

2. The U.S. Dragon Box is so expensive now that if you wait for a good deal you can get the Japanese one for the same price, if you care about the better audio, and you can get a region free, upscaling DVD player for under $50 now.

3. Sooner or later, FUNi are going to go back to the well with another 4:3 release on Blu-ray, my guess is that they're waiting for Toei to do the restoration/conversion work for them (probably why they dumped 4:3 after those first few volumes of their original BD release). Why pay crazy money for the Dragon Box when you know that's around the corner? Great example, complete series runs of The X-Files were going for nearly $600 on ebay, then FOX did a new box set print run, now the old volumes are almost worthless. Don't set yourself up for that bad of an investment, buy the orange bricks for now.

Yes I own them and they're pretty good. The only problem I have is that the audio quality for the Japanese version sucks...but it seems there is no good audio for the original Japanese Z or Japanese DB.
