How fast do you think it took for his beam to reach the moon?

I don't think it took very long at all. For some people though it doesn't matter. Goku was on the moon in db which means it's close enough to be sharing an atmosphere with the earth. Idk if that's gag though and whether or not it should be taken seriously

Probably a couple seconds, because Piccolo didn't move at all, and if it had taken a couple minutes Gohan would have killed him or fought with him.

Even if that would contradict the characters not being FTL until around SSJG Goku, Dragon Ball is inconsistent a lot.

A few minutes, perhaps.

Oozaru Gohan had a power level of 10 and he'd have to keep pumping energy into the attack to make sure it got there.

It's not as clear in this one, but if you see the Roshi one parts of the moon fell on Krillin and Yamcha. Unless you believe pieces of moon are FTL, you either need to have a small distance between them and the moon or a large implied timed between panels.

Between when he fires the blast and the end of the moon explosion? Few seconds.
Then Gohan proceeds to get back to normal state.

I really have no opinion on the matter. Logically it should take a few minutes at least, but this is DB we are talking about. It's not supposed to be realistic.

I don't know and I don't care. But I'll point out that the DB world is a lot smaller than ours, meaning the moon is probably very close to the planet.

No, from what we know the distance between DB Earth and Moon is the same as the real distance between Earth and Moon: around 380000 km.

Right, but people say because goku was on the moon, it's really close and it's likely sharing an atmosphere with the earth and toriyama just doesn't know what he's talking about. That's how he took boss rabbit to the moon

Maybe goku just held his breath?

Pieces from the moon fell on Yamcha on Krillin; Toriyama most likely forgot that he shortened the distance of the moon during the interview.

Although you don't have to have a short distance, you could just imply a very high implied time between panels which would work in place.

I looked back at the scenes in the manga. We don't know if those pieces of rubble falling on krillin and yamcha are from the moon. There was rubble falling on everyone before roshi destroyed the moon

There is a giant Oozaru blowing sh** up in the background. I can't imagine it took more than a few seconds.

An Oozaru with the power level of 10, yeah.

Anyone wonder why Piccolo Daimao's feat of blowing up a city was meant to be more impressive than Roshi blowing up the moon? Majunior's Island-clearing attack as well.

Going my sequence of events it seems likely. He showed pieces fall right after the moon was destroyed (Goku should stop going crazy at this point). I mean it's not really proven, just likely it was pieces of the moon. Also keep in mind that Boss Rabbit was able to breathe on the moon, along with the fact of how large the moon seems when drawn next to Piccolo (implying closeness).
