His weights are off and he's powered up dude. What's the issue?

He powered up against Cell as well, with his weights on....

Piccolo no weights FP > Piccolo weights FP

Geez man, you are better than dis

Considering that Piccolo merely rivaled 17 and 18 before while Piccolo without weights thinks 17 punches like a little girl, I'd think a power difference is there.
Obviously. His weights aren't all that relevant, though, if he's going from rivaling the androids to being about equal with them at full power.

Piccolo powering up for Cell:

Piccolo raging after the fight (scaring Vegeta out of Super Saiyan!):

Chapter: 364 (DBZ 170), P10.1
Vegeta: “One of those guys with mysterious, absurdly large battle powers has vanished…But the other one remains…It’s not No.17 or the other androids. They don’t give off any presence at all…W-who the hell is it…!?”
Context: the vanished one is Cell, and the remaining one is Piccolo

Then later...

Chapter: 364 (DBZ 170), P11.7
Vegeta: “The battle power I sensed then really did surpass mine, as a Super Saiyan…Im-impossible…He’s just a Namekian...”

Hm. Thought he lacked an aura (unless he does @IPC and the lines are something else). Thanks for those.

Edit: Against 17, there's no emphasis when his clothing his the ground, right?

Right. It's replaced with Piccolo powering up.

Nope, he's got an aura. Not a feisty one, but one nonetheless.

Nope again. We don't see his weights land at all.

edit; f*** this colored text business.

I don't see any reason to make Piccolo very strong or very weak. So to fit my Base Saiyans > Piccolo Boo Arc chain, I just make Piccolo super weak.

The reason why people put Piccolo no weights > Piccolo weights, is not because of his clothes, but because of his power up just to make it clear.

I think when Goku states that he can't beat Cell, and as soon as he powers up on Korin Tower, Trunks would assume that Cell (he knows his power) > Goku power up on Korin which its 50%.

Trunks knows about Piccolo's Post Rosat power and wets himself , shocked to hear that Piccolo is fodder, which comes to conclusion and Trunks finally realizing that Cell is much much stronger than 50% Goku.

HMC and Alex. No.

And as you guys can see, Piccolo does power up. He has a freaking vein popping out of his head. Whether the weights are playing a factor, I'd say so. Going from rivaling to a bit superior to the strongest is at least somewhat of an increase. Goku rivaled Cell, Zarbon rivaled Vegeta, the rivaling gap isn't as tight as you'd think. `

Regarding the weights issue. Put it this way, Piccolo is always wearing weights, except for the 23rd Budokai. This is just part of his character.

The only thing I can come up with Piccolo's clothes , is that Piccolo fights more comfortable without clothes. Cell Arc only.

Frieza arc: Piccolo fights at weighted clothes against Frieza, but he doesn't power up, still ends up higher than Frieza 2nd form. He takes his clothes off , and then powers up.

There is a difference between Piccolo weighted clothes and unweighted clothes at Frieza arc, but not really at Cell arc, no ?

So for the whole story when Piccolo takes his clothes off it means more power, everytime he fights a foe he considers powerful he takes his weights off, and we have a statement suggesting his weighted power is weaker than his unweighted power....

And you think the weights don't mean anything? How and why exactly?

I'm asking 2 things.

Why is Piccolo fighting with weighted clothes against Frieza without powering up. Why is Piccolo fighting with his weighted clothes against Cell with powering up?

He's comfortably ahead enough?

I wish Piccolo's weights gave him an increase like Paikuhan's did.

Would Piccolo be weaker than Cell if he didn't power up?

Guess what I just noticed. Piccolo arrived to the Cell Games with his weights on, but they mysteriously vanished when he fought the Cell Juniors. Yes he gets an increase from taking them off.

So, Piccolo unweighted clothes > MSSJ Goku 50% >/~ MSSJ Goku exhausted > Piccolo weighted clothes?

Yep it's the same with Krillen on Namek. When Krillen on Namek decided hey we are in some real s***, clothes start to change.

Powering up doesn't mean much. Not really consistent. They don't need to power up to be at full power. At least not in the Namek Saga at least.

Piccolo Weighted doesn't power up and neither does Unweighted Piccolo. Vegeta vs Freeza doesn't power up either.

It's not a consistent thing.

I'd put Weighted Piccolo above Weakened Goku.
