Halo Universe vs. Star Wars Universe

Super Saiyan among Super Saiyans

Scenario 1: No Jedi

Scenario 2: Elites' Energy Swords can Combat Jedi's Lightsabers; No Force

Scenario 3: Same as (2) but Jedi can use the Force

Overall, these two sci-fi universes seem similarly matched.

Banshee vs. Tie-fighter

Scarab vs. AT-AT

Plasma rifle vs. Plasma rifle

and so forth
We Super Saiyans are in a league of our own.

This is true. Again presuming they are valid targets. But certain Spartans did demonstrate a genetic predisposition against the metamorphisis. Perhaps a Jedi's midichlorins would create a similar defense?
Only one Spartan is Canonically safe from Composition and that was because of a genetic unlocking that came from another Forerunner, the Librarian. There is no proof that any Spartan or indeed any human is predisposed to surviving Composition without outside help.

Huh, i may have skipped that cutscenes. Ok fair enough. But that being said, is there any reason a midichlorin manipulator like Palpatine couldn't ward of it's effects by rearranging his own structure or through cloning perhaps? Or for that matter, yes it penetrates shields and armor very effectively, but how do we think it would do against The Force?

I guess the question is this, at the end of the day:

Which is stronger, advanced magic or advanced technology? And is one really all that separate from the other?

If I had to name a Star Wars character who'd figure out how to counter Composition, I'd put my money on Palpatine. That Sith SOB has defied death exactly HOW many times in the EU? Ten, fifteen times? But the better question is this: If he DID find a way to counter it, would he share it? I'm of a mind he would hoard the knowledge and that the regular heroes wouldn't be of a mind to accept ANY aid from him anyway.

You know, I bet he'd keep his acolytes and maybe the Skywalker family in one piece. But that's about it, in character anyway. Knowing that magnificent bastard he'll probably find a way to assimilate it into Star Destroyer weaponry , make it the size of a small planet, spend quadrillionth of credits on it, give it a silly name like "The Monaco Murader" or "The Universal Murderer" or "The Nostril of Palpatine" then forget to nail down a vent or some thing, Chief will drop a grenade in it and the whole damn thing would explode.
