Okay then, DB fighters are lightspeed by the 22nd Budokai? I'd imagine the participants of the 23rd Budokai are MFTL?

Like what Steve said about kakashi: he can react to lightning but his travel speed and his overall combat speed is not lightning speed. I think it might be the same idea with goku

It's much more likely that he realised what Tenshinhan was doing beforehand and went to get the shades while Tenshinhan was in the last stages of preparing the technique. Also, no. If Tenshinhan could see Goku, he would've seen that he had the shades on and wouldn't go for such a forward, easily-counterable attack.

Unless Goku's FTL and Tenshinhan isn't. That wouldn't make any sense. If they were anywhere near FTL, the audience would see nothing at all. Plus, the training for the 21st Budokai was about surpassing human limits. So, they went from Superhuman speed at the 21st to FTL at the 22nd? That makes no sense whatsoever.

Right, it's much more logical to assume that they're both FTL, even though a lot of their fight could be seen by others. Unless they had a secret agreement to hold their true speed back before their match.

So Goku is too fast for Tenshinhan to follow? Where did that amazing speed disappear to after the Taiyoken? Edit - So you're going to deny the possibility that Goku was moving back to his original position when Tenshinhan charged him? Tenshinhan says that he can't see, not that he can't move.
