Ok seriously how strong is Bear Thief?

 I mean in comparison to normal humans, Budokai fodder, Mr. Satan, Videl, actual bears etc. He doesn't look too strong to me after rereading the chapter where Goku one-shotted him.

 He's pretty pathetic even by Dragonball standards. No more powerful than your average tough guy in my opinion. He wouldn't be able to get past the preliminaries in any budokai.

 Hard to tell since Goku was so far above him. Possibly stronger than Yamcha, possibly weaker than Mr Satan.

On a somewhat related note, why is his name Bear "thief"? He never tried to steal anything, he merely wanted to eat Turtle and somehow he's presented as a bad guy. Why can Goku kill fish, lions, coyotes and stuff and be pure hearted, but a hungry bear wants one turtle and suddenly he's a bad guy.

 @Clearin: I think because he was kind of dressed like a pirate/thief.

@DSTREET: I'd say he is around Videl in terms of "ki" level, but would be much stronger physically. He was a 20 foot tall bear who looked pretty ripped.

 Yeah maybe lol, my judgement of size is pretty bad. Goku being so tiny does make him look rather large. I think I could still say 10 feet tall which would make him one tank of a bear.
