When Did the Kamehameha become the Most Powerful Move Again?

Super Saiyan among Super Saiyans

In the Saiyan arc, the Kamehameha is not very special at all:

Special Beam Cannon > Kamehameha

Nappa's FP Blast = Kamehameha

Gallic Gun > Kamehameha

In the Frieza arc, Kamehameha is technically not the most powerful move either:

Frieza's Nova Strike >= Kamehameha

Then we get to the Cell arc where everyone treats KHH like it's the most powerful move ever even though:

Light Grenade > KHH

Final Flash > KHH

What happened? Is it that KHH was being utilized by the most powerful warriors or did they upgrade the attack off-screen?
We Super Saiyans are in a league of our own.

I don't know if it ever did become "the most powerful move" but it had it's traits.

Let's look at the examples you listed.

Special Beam Cannon: Takes ~ 5 minutes to charge if I recall correctly. Sure it has amazing amp, and it creates a nice piercing beam, but what enemy will let you charge that thing? Lol

Nappa's Blast: Keep in mind that Nappa and Goku were near equals. Nappa shot off his attack, and Goku barely had time to counter it. The reason why his Kamehameha didn't phase Nappa was because it was uncharged. He literally just threw out a blast because he had to defend himself.

Galic Gun: Keep in mind how much stronger Vegeta was compared to Goku. Not to mention, Goku fired the beam while in Kaioken, so we may not have seen its true amp, or power.

Nova Strike: Agreed, that attack is more powerful.

Light Grenade: Agreed again, but it's an attack that requires an ample amount of charging time. Not to mention you can't control it, it's just a huge blast. Any enemy with super speed can just dodge it.

Final Flash: Superior in power, but loses out in charging time.

The Kamehameha has a few really major traits going for it.

1) Easy to use, and quick to fire.

2) Very good amp for the charging time required.

3) Easy to manipulate the ki, and move it around after it has been shot.

The Special Beam Cannon would've NEVER worked on Goku. If Piccolo had Goku down to a point in which he wouldn't be able to dodge it, Piccolo already won anyway.

Nappa's blast was neutralized by a completely uncharged KHH, if it was even a KHH at all.

Wait how is Nova Stike stronger than KHH? If anything, Frieza getting out of it at the last second implies that it was weaker (though barely).

It was pushing back the KHH.
