滅Are you frightened?

The first time he was planning to blow the planet with no worries, but after Goku, as a Super Saiyan, he holds back to much power?

Was he holding back below 50% when he disrupted the core?

He probably could have dissolved the core in his first form. I doubt he used much power.

Doesn't take much energy at this point in this series to destroy the core. He held back a lot

Well, he was hit by the Spirit Bomb before he did mess up the core, he probably thought he had sufficient energy to finish the planet with the ki he had left.

If Freeza held back a lot, Goku would've probably have wondered about what was going on. Obviously Goku doesn't realize that Freeza's about to blow up the planet which means once Freeza's begins to power up his attack, he clearly thinks Freeza's going to attack him. Now if Freeza started lowering his power well below 50% and all that, you'd think Goku would've taken notice of that.

But he was clearly going to pop the planet at first, and then later, he fires off another attack to destroy the planet via core. How did he misjudged at that particular scene?

I don't know if that happens in the anime or something but in the manga, Freeza just fires off one shot on Namek to hit the core. Freeza only tries to attack Namek itself once once he's fighting SSJ Goku in the manga. Once his first attack fails but the planet is going to explode eventually, they just continue their fight.

Wrong.

Freeza does indeed try to nuke Namek before Goku went Super Saiyan. He wasn't able to fire his Death Ball though since the Spirit Bomb slammed into him before he could fire

Ah yes...who says he wasn't aiming for the core there then? He's obviously still got to utilize enough power in that attack so that Goku or Piccolo don't have enough strength to knock it away or something.

To be fair, Goku was barely standing and Piccolo outright said he didn't have enough energy to do anything. Gohan and Krillin had also just fired the last of their power.

Then again, Freeza was so consumed with rage, he probably wasn't thinking clearly either

This is something that has always bothered me. Flipping 18k Vegeta can vaporize the earth, or at least cause it to explode, yet 50% Freeza couldn't destroy Namek when he had the intention to. Even if he eased up a little, that energy ball should have had enough to vaporize the core, I just don't get how it didn't.

It's called PIS in all likelihood freiza is able to 1 shot planets in his base form with the upmost of ease

He didn't nuke namek right away because of the plot

Yeah I agree with that, it's just unfortunate it even occurred then. I would have been more understanding if he fired a tiny beam into the core, and even then it should have had the potential to blow it up.

But that line makes no sense if he had no problem at his first attempt.
