What caused you to get in to the Dragon Ball series?

Google Chrome Favourite Manga Dragon Ball/Z, and One Piece	What specifically was the thing that casued you to like the Dragon Ball series? To truly like it, so any recommendations from a friend doesn't count, only what part of it got you hooked. For me, at first I thought it looked stupid, and I pretty much swore I would never watch it. However, one day it was on, and it was one of the episodes where Goku was being trained by North Kaio-sama, specifically the part where Goku either had to catch Bubbles or hit Gregory with the hammer. I found it funny, and then I started watching more the next day, and I liked it. Maybe it's part of the reason that I actually like the Boo Arc, because it had a lot of humor, and humor was what got me into the Dragon Ball series. What got you into it?

Chrome Favourite Manga One Punch Man	I grew up loving superheroes, watching the old 90s Spider-Man cartoon and having no shortage of hand-me-down comics to read. In my early teen years I also started getting into anime, mainly via Pokémon which was the new hotness at the time. Dragon Ball Z, currently going strong on Toonami, was the perfect blend of large-scale Superman-style superhero action combined with the exotic new anime style I was just learning about. Bada-bing. The first episode I saw was the one titled "Super Saiyan 3?!". Pretty much watching Goku transform got me hooked, and I never stopped.

Well, what specifically about it got you into it? The fights for the most part, I think it was Piccolo and Goku vs Raditz. It was the original Funi dub, I was only 7 or 8 and even then the dialogue seemed cheesy to me. Years later I saw Funi's DBZ Kai and I own most of the Viz manga, and I understood why I thought the dialogue was poor. But I always feel nostalgia towards the old dub. Google Chrome Favourite Manga Dragon Ball	When I was super little, probably like 2 or 3 years old, my dad showed me The World's Strongest. I didn't care for it at the time, but sometime later, my dad showed me Goku's transformation against Freeza, and the ensuing fight on Toonami. I was hooked ever since.
