Was there moment where you wanted to stop watching?

I'm re-writing some old threads I made with more accurate stories and not trying to seem "cool"(Going by the majority of the place's interest instead of my own). Let's do this.

Yes, true at one point I wanted to stop watching DB and DBZ. Both at separate times. I remember in Dragonball I wanted to stop watching after Goku lose to Tenshinhan. I was pissed because I thought the series was going to make it seem like that Goku was going to train and get stronger but every tournament he'll lose in the finals. But then I skimmed through the manga and it turns out he won so I continue reading the manga and watching the anime in a local anime(Called "Animation Fun") store(Bootleg.) in Seoul. I just don't like the idea of the main character losing every important event only to beat a strong bad guy making the acutal winner look weak. Yes I know that happen with Ten but at least Roshi said Ten and Goku are the future and are the only ones who can save the world.

Now I stopped watching the Boo Arc and didn't even finished it until at least a year or two later(It was a marathon on Champ TV). It was when Vegeta blew himself up. Now I think Vegeta is overrated but hear me out. I didn't like the Boo Arc after this part. At first it was a bit silly of course but still had serious moments. From here on out there was far to many gags and I didn't take this arc very serious. I'm ok with Boo's fun persona but at least make us have a lost of hope or something serious. When Pure Boo(the Short one that often called Kid) blew up the Earth it was cool and awesome! After that. Nothing. We got Vegeta's speech which we got already in the Cell Arc in a different tone(Giving up Fighting compared to Admiting someone's superior) and nothing was treated serious.

GT. I watched pretty much all of Z on Toonami, but I after a bit of GT, I stopped. I didn't watch all of GT until my Freshman year in High School.

Cell coming back after blowing himself up and then somehow being near SSJ2 Gohan's equal. The whole thing seemed needless. I'm only speculating but I got the sense that Toriyama's editor at the time said no you can't end it there, bring him back to life somehow.

I would have to agree on GT as well.

Unlike many people on DBZF, I actually enjoyed the Boo Arc's goofiness. It had a charm to it that reminds me of the originalk Dragon Ball and Dr. Slump.

Especially compared to how serious and dark the tone was in the Androids Arc.

Not that I didn't like the dark tone though.

10 minutes into episode one. That's actually what happened, it was when it first aired here in the UK, I watched the first episode for 10 minutes, got bored and changed to something else. Didn't pick it up again until it was in the Android saga. To this day Saiyan saga is still by far my least favourite of the DBZ sagas. GT had the same problem, with me watching the first 4 episodes, getting bored, and then picking it up again around the Baby saga, and the Black Star Dragon Ball is my least favourite DBGT saga (Though I'm hardly a fan of any of them, and haven't seen GT properly in yeeeeeaaaars, missing most of the earlier episodes, and some of the later ones entirely). Original Dragon Ball continued the trend, with Pilaf saga being my least favourite of the Dragon Ball sagas (and least favourite overall), but I don't think it aired properly over here in the UK? I know something aired but it was only the first few episodes with a really bad dub from what I can remember.

Basically if you split each of the 3 series up, each first saga is my least favourite.

The Saiyan saga was my least favorite too. There wasn't even 1 fight I liked so far.

The Buu arch never did much for me.

Not at the time, but I can't watch the Boo arc post Majin Vegeta. I really love the characters in that arc - my favorites in the series being Goku, Goten, and Videl - but the plot, the wishy-washing of AT, ssj3, the villian, Gotenks and fusion oerall, the kais, and the powers and power levels all turned me off.

It has nothing to do with the arc's humor. I loved Dragon Ball's humor. The difference between the two for me was DB was more witty and the Buu arc was more childish. Obviously the content of DB's humor wasn't exactly tasteful, but it was well written. The skits with Yamucha, Puar, Oolong and Goku in Oolong's van; the turtle's tail joke (anime only) at Bulma; the Tien not knowing what a shirt is at the budokai.. Everything was witty and tied in very nicely. Buu was just an idiot incapable of dialogue and being a part of witty skits.

I personally don't care to remember it as part of the series; I'm fine with my collection ending at the Cell arc.

Cell Games. In the anime it was just several episodes of Goku countering every move that he countered already. I skipped all the way to SSJ3 Goku vs Fat Buu and came back and finished everything I missed after a couple of episodes later.

Buu Arc once Vegeta died. There wasn't really much story outside of fighting Buu and most of the fights were boring because they were one-sided stomps.

When Radditz beat the Farmer up. That was the biggest slap in the face for me, that I almost lost all faith in the series.

...

In all seriousness though, I wanted to give up around the Boo arc, after the Budokai. Even though I've watched it and read it, I still prefer to skip over it.

I felt the same way for all of Gotenks' unnecessarily long reign.

After the Freeza fight hit the five episode mark I was tuning out attention-wise and just fast-forwarding.
