The fight didn't pick up honestly until Gohan and Krillin came back. Though I'll admit I did like the animation and the Kaiokenx3 attacks(Including the Kamehameha clash). But I felt the Oozaru part not boring but it wasn't SUPER EXCITING TO ME! Then again I was looking at it from a fan point of view. I forget Goku doesn't know that the tail is the weakness into beating an Oozaru. However once Gohan and Krillin came it felt as if the fight was more cool and Vegeta got to show his battle smarts and more ki attacks. Thought it was awesome. Nice to see Krillin "fight" and Gohan kicks a*. The Fat man s*(I think his name is Yajoribe) was ultra funny. I also think Ten vs Yamcha is overrated but that's for a different topic I plan to do Underrated: Goten vs Trunks. Just kidding I'm an ultra Goten fanboy(IN fact I'm the biggest in all the universes but I would't say that fight haha. I honestly want to say Krillin vs Piccolo. I know the fight wasn't that long even in the anime. But I like how it shows how cool of a fighter Krillin is and his intelligent. Not only did he manage to fly before Goku did but he even landed a hit on Piccolo surprising Piccolo himself. The intelligence part was when Krillin knew he could't win and gave up. To me that shows a lot of battle smarts. Well for a Tenkaichi Budokai not a life or death fight . This is also way I kinda liked the Shikamaru vs Temari fight back at the Chunnin Exams.

One of my favorite fights was Yamcha vs Shen/Kami. An overrated fight is Super Saiyan 3 Goku vs Fat Boo. Other than the introduction of SSj3, there was nothing memorable about this fight at all.

It was pretty entertaining before his heart virus showed up. Overrated I'd say Goku vs. Majin Vegeta, though it was still good and there were some parts that had wicked animation.

I agree with both of these points. The "head-butting scene" in the Goku vs Majin Vegeta fight was animated by Tadayoshi Yamamoto, and the guy is an animating god. He also animated most scenes in the the movies during their run. He also did the two episodes where Gohan goes Super Saiyan 2 and fights the Cell Jr.s, and did the episode where Goku goes Super Saiyan for the first time. However, I think the Goku vs Majin Vegeta head-butting scene is the pinnacle of his work in the series. ... Sorry, I'm just going off on animation now. To add another fight to the "underrated" list, I'd go with anything with 19. I actually like him as a character, and wish they would've used him more. 16 vs Cell was a pretty cool fight too.

Goku wasn't trying because he needed to save his energy. So it ended up being nothing more than a warm up.

Google Chrome Favourite Manga Dragon Ball/Z, and One Piece	Overrated: Like most others, I'm going with SSJ2 Goku vs Majin Vegeta Underrated: Goku vs. Piccolo at the 23rd Budokai. I'm not sure if this is underrated, however I don't hear people talking about it as much. It was a fantastic fight, very atmospheric, perfect for the final battle of the original Dragon Ball. Lots of great martial arts skill shown as well, and quite DBZ like, in a good way.

I was going to pick that but I felt like the good parts were too short. Overrated: Gohan vs Cell. The part where Gohan is a MSSJ is forgetable IMO and the part where Gohan is a SSJ2 pisses me off to no end (at least until the KHH clash). Underrated: Goku vs Ninja Murasaki. I found it hilarious.

The actual fight between Goku and base Vegeta lasts about 15 minutes, with most of that just being screaming. I know screaming happens in every fight but it seems worse here due to the fact we have Goku using Kaioken so much, screaming each time. Most fights have 2 power up scenes, one for each character, but this one had multiple for Goku. The fighting itself seems slow most of the time, and 90% of the blows lack any real power or speed. Seriously at times it looks like they were just tickling each other, and I half expect them to do that "slappy fight" cartoons do for humour. When one of them gets hit by the other they just float through the air like paper. Most of the fight wasn't even, with one of the fighters clearly being in control at any one time. And that's only the part of the fight before Vegeta turns Oozaru, since after that it feels less like a fight and more like Goku just trying to survive. It's all good for a saga finale since it's very tense and there's a lot at stake, but the pure fighting was just mediocre to me. Purely from a fighting stand point, Goku vs Majin Vegeta was superior in just about every way imo. Only talking about Anime here of course. Underrated is harder to say because most of my favourite fights are already pretty popular. I guess Goten vs Trunks? It used to be at least, not sure if it still is, and I think people mostly didn't like it it due to the fact it was the kids fighting. Gohan vs Dabura is also an okay fight yet the only attention it ever gets is arguing about Gohan's form. Edited by Clearin, Jun 29 2014, 03:48 PM.

Posts: 1,078 Group: Member Member #8,530 Joined: November 6, 2012	First Vegeta vs Goku fight is the best fight in the series imo and I don't see it being as praised as other fights. Despite it being so retro I haven't seen a more epic beam struggle since and I loved every second of the striking match especially during Kaioken, there's a lot of desperation at play there too. So it's underrated for me. Slightly overrated to me is Goku vs PF Cell. Don't get me wrong it is a great fight and the near the end is amazing especially the IT Kamehameha but I don't know, when they're fighting in the ring and Cell is using Z fighters' techniques and holding back the entire time it just doesn't do it for me.
