Ah I see. I still think trusty ol Viz and even DB Kai are 95% fine. I think people make a way bigger deal out of things than needed. I wish people would pay attention to context more than quotes. Anyone can take a quote and run with it, understanding what is happening before and after the statement is what really counts. People don't seem to get that. |

Here I put this on Neo. This is how I interpret the situation.... Ah, you don't know what I'm talking about. I don't think anyone picks up on this but I believe it to be the case. Popo's training was all about how inefficient Goku's techniques were. The whole training was using ki to find your opponent and using proper technique so you don't tire yourself out. As well as getting stronger of course. But those two principles were huge. I've thought about this for a long time but I guess I've never shared. We see these principles in the Tien fight and that's really it. Tien is breathing hard because he isn't fighting efficiently like Goku has been learning how to over the last three years. Also, when Tien is using his full speed, he's shocked that Goku can keep up with his eyes. The reason Goku can keep up is because he is using his ki sensing abilities to track Tien. Neither of these suggestions are blatant and require thinking but I feel very strongly that these are being implied. So Tien's speed is a lot more than expected and Goku's technique is actually playing a real factor here because they were equals at that point. |

I'm still hung up about the quote. I want to direct translation, which I'm working on. Anyway, we all agree Popo should be stronger than both of them at the time. |

Yeesh seriously? Debating with you must take ages man. Lol. That's one little quote for one topic. Ah, but I guess you are used to Herms having every quote for you? It still doesn't cover the most important part of the story, which is context imo. One quote means very little without the surrounding quotes to parlay it with. That's why you have all these Herms only guys who go crazy with interpretations because they are basing everything off of that one quote. But seriously, I have read all of Herms quotes, heard all of the JP anime translations for the most part and have Viz. It's generally all the same. These were paid translators by Viz, who did a really good job. Small and slight differences for the most part that don't effect things. |

Yep, got the answer myself today. P was right. I thought it was suspicious that Herms hadn't put it in his Strength Checker + that it said something different in my own translation. Welp, I can put that behind at least. |

During this debate I found this to be pretty interesting. Krillen and Yamcha think that Goku vs Tien ( Round 1 ) is amazing and can enjoy the fight, when Tien goes all out, they can't even see him anymore. I thought that was pretty cool. I hadn't really picked up on that before. |
