IMO, I think because Human/Saiyan hybrids have human emotions they can tap into their potential more efficiently than Pure Saiyans.
What do you think.

That tends to be the general consensus on the subject. Nobody aside from Gohan up until Vegeta in Movie 14 was able to tap into their emotions to gain such incredible power increases.

I think he means in general and why they are stronger.

I've always been cool with that. So a Saiyan/whatever else hybrid may be different when it comes to the whole tapping into power through emotions.

Chapter: 204 (DBZ 10), P12.1-2
Vegeta: “At any rate, the battle power of Kakarot’s son is unusually high, even by the standards of Saiyan children.”
Nappa: “Maybe his reading was wrong.”
Vegeta: “No, it wasn’t wrong. Raditz really took a large amount of damage from that brat’s attack. It seems that mixing Saiyan and Earthling blood begets a powerful hybrid.”

This isn't a definite statement, but there are other statements in the manga that say Gohan has higher potential than anybody. Like in the Boo arc, when Goku says that nobody can beat Gohan if he gets angry.

I think that's at least a decent indicator that they for sure have a higher potential.

The question is why. Why do they have higher potential just because of human dna?

The mix for whatever reason causes that. Saiyans > Humans. Mix > Saiyans > Humans. Something triggers within the mix.

Would probably need a scientist in that world to work out why I suppose.

Here's my hypothesis to that question.

In DBZ, it's reasonable to infer that humans can become angry with more ease and more volatility than Saiyans.

Take Gohan's rage boosts, all of them afforded him access to the reserves of potential after he became extremely angry. Seeing his father getting beat up and seeing Krillin being impaled, these are examples of the minimum amount of anger he needs to feel to access a portion of his potential.

The propensity that Gohan has for anger, if properly motivated, gives him greater access to his Saiyan potential.

We Super Saiyans are in a league of our own.

Maybe it's the way things trigger human emotions that bring out the latent Sayian power.

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the war room!"

When we first meet Vegeta, he suggests that mixing Saiyan and Human genes creates "Super Saiyans". Apparently human genes adds something to the Saiyan gene pool that Saiyan genome doesn't have on its own, though we don't really know what.
