Just to recap the situation: When Goku and Vegeta removed Piccolo and the boys, they noted that Boohan's power decreased dramatically, presumably to the level that Super Boo was without anyone absorbed. Despite this decrease in power, Goku still isn't confident that him and Vegeta can defeat Boo individually. When they remove Fat Boo, they mention that his power seems like it's increasing as he transforms into Buff Boo. When he continues his transformation to become Kid Boo, his power is not noted to change. Vegeta mockingly states: "Look at our little friend." Goku responds by stating: "Yea! We can take 'im!" Vegeta's comment and Goku's response were both referring to Boo's physical size, not his power. Is it safe to assume that Kid Boo is actually weaker than Super Boo, or simply isn't considered as big of a threat because of his over-all size when compared to his larger counterpart? Goku's fight with him may suggest that he is actually weaker than Super Boo, but other than what we can see from their fight, there's no evidence that he is. We never see Goku fight Super Boo at SSj3, therefore we can't make an accurate comparison. Also something to consider is that Goku was in Other World during the fight, and Other World is suggested to allow him to use SSj3 more easily. His statement about not being a match for Super Boo was made when he was on Earth. We don't really know if this is linked to him being alive versus being dead, but are the properties of Other World different on living bodies as well as dead ones? Goku does mention that even in the Other World, SSj3 isn't perfect, but he has an easier time with it. So...?

Goku fights Kid Buu pretty much evenly, while he admitted to not standing a chance agaisnt Super Buu. Doesn't that answer any questions you have?

He refuses to fight Super Boo in the anime too, yet he is confident in taking on Pure Boo, who supposedly is the strongest Boo. That's a discussion for another time however. I just see Pure Boo as a slightly stronger Fat Boo who has the advantage over Goku in stamina, while Goku has the power advantage. I often compare it to Piccolo vs 17.

If you look at his declarations inside Evil Boo's body, you'll notice he's firm on being unable to defeat said Boo without any sort of fusion, and the point of removing the boys/Piccolo -- other than rescuing them -- is to weaken Boo to a point where they can handle him. When Pure Boo forms, while Vegeta's comment is clearly about size, Goku's fits right in with his sequence of statements from earlier. "We can't beat this guy without fusion." -> "Cool, we got the boys, but even though he's weakened a whole lot, we still can't beat him without fusion." -> "All right! We did it!" The "we did it" would be him affirming that Boo reached a point where they could take him down without fusion. Goku has never been one to judge an opponent on size, so it'd be uncharacteristic of him to do so at this point. Pure Boo can snuggle in between Fat Boo and Super Saiyan 3 Goku just fine. I'm not trying to challenge that view because I agree with it for the most part, but do you have any evidence that SSj3 is easier while dead, and has no difference on a living body depending on Earthly vs Heavenly location? Every statement I can remember is Goku referring to SSj3 and it's difficulty is "On Earth" and in "Other World", not living vs dead.

At the very least, Goten and Trunks are separate by the time Goku and Vegeta find them inside of Boo. Chapter: 507 (DBZ 313), P12.4-5 Context: after Goku and Vegeta revert Boo back to regular evil Boo Goku: "Hehhe~~eh! With this, Boo's power should have fallen significantly! We're almost there! See, see: the size of his ki is completely different than before!" Vegeta: "Alright! Let's blast out of here and escape!" Goku: "Wait! Even though Boo has returned to normal a whole lot, we're still simply no match for his strength! If we go outside like this, we'll definitely be done in...!" Some quotes I've found in favor of Goku and Vegeta being below Super Boo by some amount and by extension, Kiddy Boo.
