I'm starting law school to become a divorce attorney because I think that generalizing sexes leads to kids going to the wrong home. XD I don't think I'd be able to answer that question. I have seen generalizations go wroooooong. I have seen kids with unfit mothers because people think all children should be with their mother, and I have seen kids go to abusive fathers simply because judges want to challenge convention. To make a choice like that would doom a lot of children. |

Generalizations work, but only when people realize what generalizations are. In lamest terms, in general X,Y,Z. Does it mean every time? No. But most times, yes. There are exceptions, but they are the rule. Clearly people have no idea what statistics are or don't understand probability or something. If someone has a .333 batting average and they get 3 at bats per game, one would say they would average 1 hit per every 3 at bats. Does it mean they are going to get a hit every single game? Of course not. This is not rocket science. |

For children I don't think a judge should have the ultimate say over where they go at all in fact they should have no say, they don't know the parents or the children they can't deem which is the better parent just by looking at them. Judges shouldn't be allowed to decide that and leave social workers cleaning up the mess, social workers who get to know the family should decide. Maybe the couple are being divorced because the man beat the wife, course most people would instantly assume he's an unfit dad when really his rage might have boiled over because the woman sits on her a*** all day and hasn't even changed a diaper. Custody seems to be but otherwise I wouldn't say it is slanted towards women it's just that women tend to be the less hard working or less rich one more often so they bulls*** their way in to getting what the man earned. It's not that the law favours them there they just abuse it and how gullible men are more often. Lonely old rich guys will kill for a hot babe in her 20's but a rich menopausal old woman is hardly going to care that much for a young guy, much less want to marry them. So the issue with divorce is the people not the law. |

Since so many people seem to think that the lonely old rich guy has the short end of the stick, are we talking about custody or assets? Because in the case of custody, if both parents are fit yet simply cannot agree on terms, shouldn't the parent who will conceivably live longer have primary custody to reduce stress on the kids? Also, prenuptial agreements are pretty easy to obtain. Why didn't he sign one? |

This is not at all feasibly possible. There are so many divorces a year involving children and nowhere near enough social workers for that. How much time do you have to spend to "get to know the family"? An afternoon? If it's just that then they really don't know much more than a judge. A week? A month? You know how much time that would take? Then of course this is on top of the already existing responsibilities social workers have. It sounds nice in theory but its not practical at all.
It's not bulls***. A marriage is supposed to be a partnership between people, what you make is for your family not yourself. You can't really share everything then one day decide you're just going to take it all away because you were the one that earned it. It's not abuse of the law, it's literally what the law says. How things are divided up depends upon a whole heap of factors.
Don't really get what point you're trying to make here but I'll just say that just because a woman has gone through the menopause doesn't mean that she wouldn't care about younger men. |
We'll never be those kids again

The solution to all of these divorces is male birth control. Once the men have the same power as the women, we are talking about being birth being way more planned out than it is right now. The more planning, the better chance for marriages to work. Monogamy is unnatural and will never really work because it goes against our nature, but it is good for raising children so we try. |

I believe in divorce both the partners should get whatever money they owned/produced only. For example if it is the father in the family who earns/makes the money then he should only get what he earns. The money shouldn't be "split" or "balanced".If the wife wanted the money or wanted the money to be shared among the family then she should not have divorced. The same thing should be applied for the opposite case. As for the child of course we could send him to an orphan or a military school.Or have him choose which parent he is comfortable with.I believe that the first option is better in the long run. |

http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-info/men/birth-control-men To be honest, I thought everyone knew about condoms. A condom for men is possibly the only form of birth control, or even STD preventer, that doesn't have a lasting effect, outside of not having sex and whatnot. What else can you do to a man to prevent the sperm getting to the egg? The majority of the action happens in the womb, unless men want wombs. |

Have you ever used a condom? They are terrible. Can't feel anything. I've been with over 50 women and never used condoms. Most men and women don't like condoms in my life experience. I know I can't even stay up right and I know a lot who can't either. Sex killers imo. They need better ones. |

Marriage doesn't have to mean sharing. A lot of men get into marriage thinking they'll be providing, not sharing. Once the marriage is over you shouldn't have to provide anymore. Some acceptable exceptions for alimony do make sense since a partner gives up their chance at earning a decent living wage so they need help to stay on their feet for some time. Societal laws are created in a certain context of society. These days people can get married just for the sake of tax benefits. When the very definition of marriage is changing so rapidly it's important for the law to keep up with the times. There's a reason prenups are becoming so popular these days. People don't believe marriage is the same thing it used to be. |
