Sleep + Dreams

How important is sleep to you? How many hours do you need a night? Can you pull an all nighter? Can you barely stay up 12 hours?

What about dreams - do you think they actually mean something or are they purely brain chemicals interacting? Does anyone here lucid dream?

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

It's my past time :D

I struggle to sleep though, can sleep for a whole day but wake up very easily then don't get back to sleep >.>

As for dreams I have very weird ones, I can usually decipher why certain things happen though like if a giant octopus destroys a city it's probably because I seen an octopus on TV a couple of days before.
Usually I think they don't mean much but sometimes there's odd ones like me and my girlfriend having a baby(which incidentally had my fabulous hairdo at birth) and ones where my family act like I don't exist.
Don't think I've ever had a real lucid dreams but sometimes I can reject things that are happening if it's scary so there's some control.

Sleep's not that important to me. I prefer staying up as long as I can over getting sleep. I can pull an all-nighter, go to work the next morning, and most of the time be just fine. I go through my usual routine after I get off work, so I don't usually get a nap during the afternoon. The most sleep I get, when I do sleep, is about 4 hours. 4 hours of sleep is a lot to me.

I won't get into dreams much, but I do have lucid ones. Recently, I've been dreaming about my two stories I'm writing and the three important rivals in my life. I find it crazy how much I dream about them. I believe all my dreams have some sort of meaning. I utilize them to prepare for what's next.

I need at least around 7 hours or coffee. I usually tried to avoid coffee as it tastes like crap without sugar (I avoid sugar lol). If I obey my schedule of no screen time 1 hour before sleep I have no trouble sleeping; or else it takes like 1 or 2 hours to go to sleep.

When the Summer comes along, I get a lot of sleep due to not having to get up early. Regularly, I'd say about 3-4 hours a night is my average. I tend to stay up later because a lot of my friends live in the states and the best time for us to talk is later on in the day. After a few weeks of this, though, I tend to crash and burn and sleep for much longer.

As for dreams, I have them sometimes. They're mostly horror/fantasy ones, which can be great, but they can be quite unnerving too.

Sleep is pretty important to me. It's not the amount though, just that I need some every night (so no all-nighters >_< ). Other than that, I could probably survive off about 4 hours per night for a month or so (which I did during peak output in my computing course), but Ideally I get about 8.

If I do dream (I'm assuming I do) I don't remember any of them. I don't think I've remembered dreaming since I was in my early teens.

People of our age need about 8 or so hours of sleep while older people like the elderly may only need about 6 hours of sleep. As a special note, whenever you sleep you actually dream every single time but you only remember dreams after being woken up at a certain part of the sleep cycle, specifically IIRC Stages 3 and 4 of REM sleep. So for example if you were to be awoken from your Stage 4, you'll have a more vivid thoughts of your dream and a little less so in Stage 3.

However if your awoken in the others stages of sleep, you won't remember the dreams you had.

I usually get about 6 hours sleep and thats fine for me. I can pull an all nighter but I always feel like s*** for the whole day if I do that, so I tend to not try that.
