Boo Arc(Anime) vs Boo Arc(Manga); Did Toei do better than Toriyama?

Posts: 1,995 Group: Member Member #10,673 Joined: January 4, 2014 Gender Male	Throughout Dragonball and Dragonball Z I've found the manga to be more enjoy-able. However once I reach the Djinn Boo Arc for the first time I've prefer the anime version. In my opinion and most will agree Boo arc was the worst arc in Dbz's portion of the franchise. Doesn't mean it's bad. It just means it's not as good. I felt the manga version was rushed and seemed a bit random at times. The anime was more developed and had some filler that wasn't annoying for once. Let's start with the beginning with the mini Gohan adventures. Both the anime and manga version of these was pretty similar cept we saw more Great saiyaman which was enjoyable. Then the manga and anime plays out the same till Majin Boo awakens. Let's start with Majin Vegeta vs Goku SSJ2. To me this was made me prefer the anime more then manga buu saga. In the manga we barely saw them fight. It seemed more focus on Gohan which was nice since Gohan was pose to take's Goku's place until AKira thought he didn't fit the role. But the idea of the rematch between Goku and Vegeta being so unseen and not memorable in the manga makes me slightly disappointed. We got 19 minutes of fighting in the anime. But barely 1 minute in the manga. I also enjoyed some of the filler speeches by Vegeta. They add to his character. The fight bewteen Gotenks and Boo was similar in both manga and anime but the manga was better because it was more to the point and the anime had some unneeded filler. Gohan vs Boo was similar in both cept anime had filler but it was good filler I'll give it a tie. I prefer Gohan vs Gotenks Buu in the anime because it made Gohan act realistic to someone eating his friends and family. Vegito vs Boo wasn't needed while Vegito is in base. But it did give us 1 last time to see Black hair kicks a***. The anime version of Vegito SSJ vs Boo however was better then the manga cause we got to see Vegito's toy with Buu more which helps with Vegito's plan. The explanation of Boo was better in the manga. I think the script writer for the original audio(jap) got a little confuse and I can't blame him. Kid Buu fight was a tie between both anime and manga. In my opinion I didn't like the fight at all. This is my opinion on the Boo Arc anime and manga. I wondering your opinions on the Boo arc. Do you prefer the anime or the manga version

Internet Explorer Favourite Manga Dragon Ball Z	I say the Manga. It didn't contradict it's self like the Anime did, and I absolutely hated most of the filler and a lot of the filler had the contradictions about power scaling. Also, I find the dialogue was a complete mess in the Anime and the dialogue in the Anime also carried quite a lot of the same contradictions the filler had too.

I actually found the saga to be enjoyable contrary to everyone else. Thought I would get that out. I defiantly preferred the Manga over the Anime. I saw the Anime as a kid and I thought it was pretty cool but then I read the Manga and found out that that version of the Buu Saga was much more enjoyable and faster to read. It also doesn't have the dumb inconsistencies that the Anime had like Kid Buu > Buuhan and SSJ3 Goku > Mystic Gohan.

Internet Explorer Favourite Manga Dragon Ball Z	I don't hate the Boo arc either... I'm just disappointed in it's end result. The only filler I actually liked was the beginning of Ultimate Gohan VS. Gotenks Boo. I liked how he lead Gohan into believing that he had some hope of winning at first, then he yanked that rug out from under him. Because personally I think that's a terrific and cold mind-game to play on someone and felt it worked very well here.

The anime's buu saga is just waaay too inconsistent though
