Crazy Awesome Legend

Chi Chi never allowed Gohan to be trained, so he was never able to understand how to access 100% of his power. This meant that when Radditz showed up, everyone was caught with their pants down. Had Gohan been trained properly then Radditz would have been easily put down and Goku would have lived. Goku would have then taken Gohan to the ROSAT to prepare for the Saiyans and probably beaten them easily. Of course once the Androids showed up, everyone would be toast. So thank you Chi Chi for inadvertently causing events which led to Trunks' birth and Goku discovering how to become all kinds of Super Saiyans. Without you, Gero would have probably won. |

Gohan was only 4 when Raditz arrived. I highly doubt that any of the other kids really trained any earlier than that either. |

Chi Chi gave us a better story then. Besides, I don't think a year or 2 of earthly training would prepare Gohan for even Nappa, let alone Vegeta. |

So in your scenario where Chi Chi is not at fault you recognize that everybody would get killed by the androids, instead of what actually happened which is everybody lived on? What a nice compromise. I know what you were going for with this thread but its honestly on youtube level. |

gohan never wanted to be a fighter like goku. actually gohan prefers to read books than to know how to throw a punch. he doesnt have it in him. the power is inside but he doesnt really want or need it. Edited by Shazam, Jun 8 2014, 08:18 AM.

^Gohan did have phases where he wanted to be a fighter, heck in Namek he was probably the most motivated he had ever been which makes his reluctance against Cell strange. Maybe because there wasn't enough at stake like fighting to wish some dead friends back to life. |

It is not just chi-chi s fault it is gohan's also Look at him at buu saga He lacks in motivation. His father and his friends was the only one who keep him training . When they gone ..Gohan's motivation gone |

This. He was nothing more than a little b1tch for the biggest part of the Boo arc. Unfortunately, Vegeta's criticism of Gohan becoming soft during peace time was just too late, despite Gohan's half-a$$ed attempt to cram some last minute training. |

Even if she wasn't at fault (like you guys said, Gohan was four), I think she partially took blame considering she trained Goten herself. That's a pretty solid u-turn. |

At that time there wasn't really an alternative for him. He was stuck on a planet with evil forces all over the place and innocent people to protect. The evil aliens weren't going to be negotiated with, so Gohan had to fight or let the inhabitants of Namek die. It was only him and Krillin until Goku arrived as well, unlike in other situations where the whole gang was more or less there to take up his slack. |

And how was the situation with Cell any different? Here's a guy who's way powerful than everyone else combined and Gohan is their only hope for survival. That's still pretty similar to the situation with Frieza. And what makes Cell worth negotiating in the first place? He mercilessly massacred million's of people within days and was planning to destroy the world/ and other planets if no one could match him in battle. The fate of possibly the universe is at stake yet Gohan decides to negotiate with the heartless monster hellbent on a universal rampage instead of trying to fight said monster for the sake of the people he cares about (something he was willing to do as a kid). As for the whole gang being there to pick up his slack, I said it before no one stood a chance even if they came all at once. Gohan knew this, and even witnessed the same gang getting the ever loving sh*t beat out of them and barely does anything about it. It took a stranger, someone who could most likely be rebuilt after a certain period of time and effort, to give Gohan the same speech Piccolo gave him 6 years ago and actually tap into his inner potential and activate his rage mode thereby transforming into a SSJ2. And sure maybe in normal cases it'd be expecting too much from a child but Gohan HAD battle experience. That's why I feel that the Cell Arc, particularly the Cell Games in this case, is overrated. It's good but it gets too much praise over something I personally feel isn't as good as the previous arc, and at some points even the Buu Saga (which is also pretty good). |

All Cell wanted was to test his power and fight. In that regard, he's similar to Goku. He killed millions, yeah, but that doesn't mean he can't be reasoned with. Look at Vegeta; he slaughtered countless beings, yet he became a 'good guy'. |
