I wanted to have a deep discussion about the strengths and weaknesses of every character in the series, even minor ones

I'll do the more major characters first, then the lesser ones last.

FYI, this'll be a long process, so it won't be finished today, and other people can help if they want.

Well, here goes.

The warriors of Zeta

Son Goku
Ah, where to begin. Son Goku has had... an interesting life to say the least. He crash landed on a faraway planet, hit his head and forgot his mission, trained with one of the greatest Masters on said planet, saved his planet from a demon, trained with the planet's guardian, died and trained with a god, stopped the prince of his home planet from destroying said planet, defeated the tyrannical emperor of the universe, stopped an android of pure perfection, and crushed a demon of pure magical energy. He even met the god of destruction! What a resume.

Pros

He has a good heart. This is undeniable through his intolerance of his "home world" and it's citizens, especially his friends, being disrespected. He's saved Earth on numerous occasions and would do it again no problem. He can also ride the flying nimbus, the ultimate proof, as it requires a pure heart to ride.

His unshakable pride. When Goku has his mind set on defeating you, he will never stop until either he completed his goal or died attempting it. Death is not a problem to him, as long as he tried his hardest to win. This has caused many an enemy to be overwhelmed, as his ability to survive is like few others in the universe.

His battle wit. There's a reason Goku is a master of martial arts, as he's not just strong and fast, he's a genius fighter, allowing him to avoid making mistakes. He rarely slips up, and manages to maintain control of a fight nearly all the time. Even Vegeta admitted inferiority to him, and that says a lot.

Cons

His ignorance. Being raised in the woods, and hitting his head as a baby has caused Goku to be incredibly thickheaded and dull. He knows nothing about the city, and technology just isn't for him. But at the sane time, he doesn't need to. He's the greatest fighter to have ever lived.

His constant desire to train. This causes his loved ones to lose touch with him, sometimes going years with no contact! Sometimes you gotta stop and say hi...

Prince Vegeta

Ah, the proud Saiyan prince. He hasn't had the most colorful upbringing, being raised a brutal warrior. He was bred by his father, the king, until the mighty Freeza snatched him and made him do his bidding. This likely messed up his psyche, making him the complex individual he is. His pain is shown several times in the series, mostly through his ranting at Goku, but deep down he had a good heart shown by his ability to live on earth.

Pros

His pride. Although not quite as unshakable as Goku's, it takes a hell of a beatdown to break him down mentally, which only two people, Freeza and Android 18, could pull off effectively. This keeps him from giving up, well past when most would.

His fighting ability. Few others in the universe could match this amazing warrior in a fight, power or skill wise, which is a good show of his dedication to his lifestyle.

His smarts. Although his ego can hinder him here at times, when he isn't blinded by pride he can strategize very well, and not even necessarily in battle, as shown by his ability to outsmart Freeza and steal the Dragon Balls from him.

Cons
His ego. This has caused him to underestimate his foe a more than one occasion, which led to him being humiliated and nearly killed in the past.

His anger. Although it's not a huge flaw, it can cause him to be a bit reckless at times, like when he blew up the Tenkaichi Budokai arena after becoming "controlled" by Babidi.

To be continued!

It'd say it was a huge flaw, he wore himself out against Freeza and PC, fed Gero a huge energy blast out of anger. And maybe tried to kill himself on Earth depending on how you see his Gallic Gun working.
