I just think MSSJ means hey now we can suppress our Super Saiyan transformation. That's really all it is. Nothing special.
They were able to suppress it as evidence by resting vs fighting ki. Without powering up, the level of ki increases when a fight occurs.

Grade 3 seems significantly worse. Trunks threw like two punches and that was it. SSJ3 Goku was able to at least fight for a couple of minutes.

I look at Grade 2 and 3 as I look at SS3. I look at it as a form that was never meant to be used or even discovered, more like an abomination to the SS power. I believe SS2 can be trained like SS, where there isn't any Ki loss but the form can be powered up. Yes, that means I believe the correct order of the SS forms is as follows (Including GT)

1. Great Ape.
2. Super Saiyan.
3. Super Saiyan 2.
Super Great Ape.
4. Super Saiyan 4.

Now, I realize this is in now way close to canon, and cannot be proves (As far as I know). Which is why right now it's a theory and only that, however when I read through the Manga again and watch GT again with the Japanese subs again, if I find anything that I think may help this theory then I'll probably look more into it.

The Knight Who Say Ni

there arent really grades in here.
the bulking isnt just being bigger and stronger, it is how the body works. trunks cannot get it too far, he only get what his body can offer.

it kinda like taking steroids, you are pushing yourself with things you never developed.
what vegeta did was pushing himself as far as he could with the things his body can offer. trunks took it further where you no longer have anything under the skin but pure energy which is useless if cannot be used correctly.
-------------------
SS are completely different thing.
i realized that every race have a limit except for saiyans.

the saiyan race isnt very strong race but with training they can get to a limit and then transform and brake the limit. go to another limit, transform again and brake it and so on...
so we have BASE limit SS limit SS2 limit SS3 and maybe more.
