Here is my idea for what would have transpired if Bardock had traveled to Earth with Goku. They land on Earth and are greeted by Gohan who offers them both a place to live. Goku's accident still happens because Bardock was sleeping at the time and Gohan decided to take Goku for a walk. Gohan is not killed by Goku's oozaru because Bardock prevents him from doing so. After a near miss he removes both Goku's tail and his own. Years later Bulma shows up and Bardock allows Goku to go with her to claim the dragonballs. He briefly considers using the wish to bring back Vegeta but later decides against it because he's made a home and family on Earth that he never really had on Vegeta. Since Goku has undergone all his training with Bardock instead of Gohan, he is way stronger than he was in the original Dragonball series. Although he still learns the Kamehameha from Roshi. The Yamcha stuff happens almost the same but Yamcha is easily defeated in the first fight before running away. They walk into Pilaf's trap as usual but due to Goku's increased power compared to before, he can easily smash his way out of the room he is imprisoned in. This is where the gang parted ways and Goku went to train under Roshi. Well in this scenario that doesn't need to happen. Goku then never meets Krillin who without a rival, flunks his training with Roshi, never to be seen or heard from again. Time passes by and the Dragonballs are renewed. Goku still wants to find the four star for fun just like in the original scenario. Only this time he blitzes through the entire red ribbon army including Taopaipai, barely breaking a sweat. This also means he doesn't bother with Karin's tower and Upa's father never gets killed. Goku then possesses all the balls. He, Gohan and Bardock decide to guard them from any more Red Ribbon types. So time moves swiftly on and we get to King Picollo being released by Pilaf. Only since all the balls are safely guarded by Bardock, King Picollo and his minions has no chance of getting them. They are each swiftly defeated by Bardock. King Picollo doesn't even get the chance to spit out the egg that becomes Picollo. Chi Chi tracks down Goku who she still met years earlier. They agree to marry. They set up a house next to Gohan's and later Gohan is born. Bardock decides it's getting too crowded and moves to the city where he gets a job playing baseball with Yamcha. Radditz arrives on Earth. This time he and Goku are of similar strength, only Goku's superior training under Bardock means that he becomes the victor after a prolonged battle. He lets Radditz flee. Freeza then learns of more Saiyans living on Earth. The fact that they are breeding concerns him enough to send Vegeta, Radditz and Nappa to exterminate them. Although Radditz and Nappa are no match for Goku and Bardock, Vegeta is still a huge problem. Especially since in this scenario Goku does not know Kaioken, having not died and trained under King Kai. Instead Bardock proposes an alliance with Vegeta to fight against Freeza. Bardock makes a persuasive arguement and the Saiyans agree to team up. Vegeta, Nappa and Radditz return home pretending that they have done their job so that Freeza won't send more powerful forces to Earth or personally intervene. Meanwhile they plot and try to get strong enough to one day take him down. This is where it really strays into fan fiction territory so I shall stop there. But it really does present a very interesting scenario in my opinion. How different it would have gone had Bardock gone to earth with Goku. |

Bardock is pretty friendly in Dragonball Minus which is technically more 'canon' than the Toei Bardock Special where he is a just some warmonger. Edited by AA500, May 22 2014, 04:59 AM.

Bardock is more neutral than fiendish in Minus. He's pretty much like he was in 'Episode of Bardock'. |

I never got the impression that Bardock was bad. He killed because he was ordered to. |
