Unlike Gohan, Goku's power was never noted to change with rage. It would be a bit random if that just happened out of nowhere. But it wouldn't be impossible, considering that Vegeta got a boost in BoG, even if such a thing never happened at the other times he got angry during the series... I think the same with Gohan's first Super Saiyan 2 transformation.

He was extremely weakened, but he was brought back up to 3 million when he transformed.

I agree, but Gohan was suggested to have a rage boost according to the Daizenshuu. It suggested that at the TB in the Boo Arc, when he went SSj2, he was only seen to be weaker because he wasn't mad and didn't get a boost. I don't see it as unreasonable to think that Goku did, but is there any evidence for it? It really seems to play into the possibility considering that Toriyama only invisioned SSj to be a 10x increase and not a 50x one.

Firefaux Favourite Manga Nein	Sometimes I question if any of you actually watched the show or read the manga and grasped the story. Goku transformed into the SSJ because he finally let go. It was brought forth by the desire to avenge his friend while feeling absolutely helpless. It is because Goku had the ability to do so but was mentally holding himself back that he finally transformed at that moment. Gohan, on the other hand, displayed that the true depths of his power were immeasurable. The stronger he got, so did the access he had to that power. Goku noted it while training with him in the ROSAT. Not only did Gohan transform properly into the next stage, but some of that dormant power was released along with it. What is so hard to understand?

SSJ2 Teen Gohan (Angry) > SSJ2 Goku/Majin Vegeta > SSJ2 Kid Gohan (Final Kamehameha) > SSJ2 Teen Gohan All implied/stated in the manga. I'm sure you know how to use Herms' strength checker. All the quotes are there. And if not, read the manga.
