Just found this video..ironically on a friends facebook page. Pretty much sums up my line of thinking in this topic.

Whoever says being an introvert is a bad thing?

Some people prefer being alone over being with people (like me for an example). Can someone explain to me what exactly is wrong with this?
I've been seeing this a lot lately on the internet, especially on Tumblr. It's fine to be proud of who you are and accept who you are, but I don't think it's okay to settle for being an introvert and refer to yourself as better than everyone else because you are an introvert. I know that's not what you're saying with this post, but I've seen it a lot lately.

I personally feel like s*** when I spend too much time in my room and don't make an effort to interact with others. Becoming more social will only help you in the long run with school, work, and the real world. If you aren't prepared for the world around you, then what are you prepared for? If your sole aim is to work on computers all day by yourself and never interact with anyone, I suppose it's okay.

Well, I never aimed to become an introvert to feel superior to others. I'm primarily an introvert because I enjoy spending time alone away from people. It helps my state of mind never having to not worry about others around me and just chilling by myself. Some people think i'm a nut for doing so but i've gone past the stage of caring of what others think of me. Outside School and Work, I just want to be alone. Social activity ain't my cup of tea.

It really depends on what you want out of life.

If you want social activity - then yeah - it'll probably bug you if you're inside a lot - in a room - on a computer - by yourself. However much those people online actually care about you.

If you don't - then it makes no difference what you do.

I still think we're gonna be screwed in the long run with the updates of technology. Trying to convince people to have a conversation with a random is near on impossible now. Let's face it - technology has taken our confidence away from us. YES some people want to be alone and that's fine - the problem is that number is growing and growing. We will all be introverts before we know it if we aren't already. Then - we are screwed in my opinion only!
