Do y'all use something like this?

  • 1-5% basically even.
  • 6-10% small advantage.
  • 11-15% bigger advantage; weaker fighter at visible disadvantages but still has a chance.
  • 16-20% moderately disadvantages.
  • 21-25% ownage.
  • 26-30%+ complete stomp.

Isn't the new "trend" not to use percentage gaps? Something about every fight should be judged individually and not based on another unrelated fight? Or derpeth?

This old man can't keep up anymore.

That's the general thing, but a moderate advantage usually means winning the fight with minor problems

M8 I know you used to use power gaps back in the day.

no, i dont
the very fact that krillen in saiyan saga, can dodge a semi enraged nappas attack form close distance
(not a full power attack but still) the dude is several times stronger then him even if he wasnt full power

so imo they dont work all that well, especially later on in the series

I barely get into power struggle discussions anymore. I find it a lot more interesting to discuss things around it, like how the trees look and stuff.

Okay, maybe not the trees, but more like character development and relationships.

The indirect blast still hurt him badly. And this speaks more for Nappa's aim, if he's mad, his aim would suffer

his aim was dead on, u can actually see it about to hit krillen
but he dodges, nappa>>> krillen
gaps dont always make sense, they're not reliable

Nope, the Impact Bomb was curving in mid-air, it would have hit Krillin, but not a direct hit

If every single fight in the series was merely two stationary robots firing beams at each other from a set distance, THEN maybe you could 100% accurately predict the outcome of a fight using math based on power gaps.

But that's NOT how it is, so...

its curved cause thats how he threw it
like a baseball over hand throw

why would nappa intend on missing on purpose? makes no sense

As far as I know at least, power gaps are more consistent than they are inconsistent. Mystic gohan vs super buu and buutenks, Gohan vs cell, vegeta vs dodoria, vegeta vs goku during the saiyan saga, and there's more I think. They all show that small gaps mean big differences

Not on purpose, but if I throw something while pissed off, there's a good chance I'm not thinking straight

But that's NOT how it is, so...

Except that it might as well be, never has a fighter with lower ki won a fight against one with higher ki. And amped moves count as having higher ki

it was still going at him, u can make that argument for anyone, if their mad they can miss....
simple enough krillen dodged nappas attack, their in fairly close quarters too
its not like nappas hundreds of feet away,
if krillen can see the attack and react and dodge the attack
when nappa is clearly >>> krillen
gaps are not reliable enough
