So there is no real canon in dbz right? Do we go by levels of canonicity or do just say "I don't like this, this isn't canon"? And if we go by levels of canonicity, how do we know what work is more canon than others? Is that also up to your personal preference?
Well. Easily the manga is canon even though db doesn't have canon. Basically the original manga + what u want besides movies(Toriyama called them a separate dimension) + BoG(due to Toriyama statements) + The BGM xD
I honestly think that it's a stretch to say that Dragon Ball has no cannon. Yes it is debated about a lot, but most people at least agree that every part of the original manga is cannon.

So there is one, it's just constantly under debate in some areas.

Comparing people complaining about SSJG to someone changing their clothes? Lmao.

People change their clothes on a daily basis, it's completely normal, so why can't Bardock wear different armour?

Do you have billions of cameras, set up to spy on the population, and complain when they change clothes?

You must have had a tough time watching DBZ. Pretty much every character has changed their clothes at one point or another.
Wow. Way to not read what I've been saying and taking things to literal. As I said that I don't like how Bardock looks in Minus. If you're going to mock me. At least read what I said.
So you care more about looks that the plot?

I've seen Minus Bardock, compared to Father of Goku and Episode of Bardock, and the changes are pretty minor. Only changes I can spot are the shoulder and leg plates.

No. Once again you took it to literal. I'm saying I don't like the way he looks. His oufit and his model is sorta off due to Toriyama artstyle making everyone skinny. I gave my opinions on plot. So once again you didn't read ANY of my post

The word canon's official definition (in this circumstance):
"The works of a particular author or artist that are recognized as genuine"

Therefore the original Bardock movie is officially non-canon by definition of the word, since it was not the work of Akira Toriyama.
There are multiple definitions of canon bud. Secondly, this definition is clear in the fact that it says recognized as genuine. The fact that this hasn't been officially placed, much like everything in Dragon Ball, means it isn't objectively canon.

They're many official definition of canon. Hope you know that.

Yes, I obviously know that or I wouldn't have said "in this circumstance". I was using the definition of canon that everyone else is talking about, the one that is relevant to the discussion.
There are multiple definitions relevant to this discussion.

This must mean Raditz will be next in line for a special manga spin-off. He was included as Vegeta's little play-buddy instead of Nappa the Protector of Vegeta!

But was ANYONE REALLY giving a f*** about Kakarot's mom?

Was anyone beating down Toriyama's door and threatening him at gun point to give us his mom?

No.

Even though he reread manga for BoG. Toriyama must've forgotten about him xD

Learning the true identity of Goku's mom was less important than finally killing the idea that it was Selypa.

Where ya been?! Haha. Yeah, it's been around for awhile. Not a big deal, but it is easy for some to think that. Well, until now that is.

I always thought it was impossible! How could people think that? Its like saying Gohan mother was Bulma despite Goku not visiting often.
