What was the Galactic Patrol doing when Raditz and then Vegeta were attacking Earth?

Akira: Even though they're called the Galactic Patrol, they only stand a chance against Saiyans when they;re children, and the Extinction Bomb doesn't work on them. Naturally, they have no choice but to turn a blind eye to people like Freeza.

There you have it the Saiyans immune system is strong enough to ignore an alien virus strong enough to wipe out humans also proving that the heart virus is EXTREMELY strong for it too effect goku.

This also proves Saiyans =/= Human even with equal power lvls

So I highly doubt a saiyan would die of radiation or any man made object when they get strong enough

I saw something like this in a series called "Animorphs" and there is a better explanation than Saiyans having a good immune system

In Animorphs, the disease only affected one race because it was tailored to their specific DNA, thus lowering collateral damage.

Wow, that's pretty cool. But does it have to do with radiation?

Edit: lazerbem has a good point too though

Tobias fan here. We all read the whole series when I was at school, was our version of Harry Potter.

Or because they can"t accomplish finding a deadly enough virus to harm them. It can go both ways.

But when they specifically say that this virus is tailored to humans, that to me screams a race wiping weapon. Perhaps they haven't found the correct chemicals to do it for Saiyans

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the war room!"

Goku fell to the Heart Virus just as fast as any human. I don't see how we can prove that Saiyan immune systems would be better than humans if we never really see any humans get sick to compare a control.

Honestly, when do we ever see a human get sick?

In addition to this, resistance to radiation would have nothing to do with someone's immune system since radiation isn't a bacteria or virus.

the heart virus was really thrown in there for plot
to keep goku away from action and then by comparison to show vegeta
was at gokus lvl and that he couldn't win so they all needed to train
it was just kinda random though

i am under the impression saiyans have basically better everything compared to humans
they are supposed to live longer, be stronger look younger ect..
so immune system would be naturally of course better- not to much of a stretch to assume so
but i doubt a whole lot better, and there really is nothing to prove things either way
but we do know
saiyans are supposed to be better then humans in basically every way thats how the story was tailored
but there not perfect and can be harmed by various means

Regardless if the heart virus thing was a plot device, you can't deny that Goku still died because of it and contracted it as easily as a human would've.
You can't prove that they have better immune systems because we have nothing to compare it against. Not to mention that immune strength itself varies widely across the population itself.

Also, humans are over-all smarter than Saiyans, so this is one area that Saiyans are not superior in. Human fighters are also seen to be generally better at ki control, even if they're weaker over-all.

humans aren't really smarter when you break it down and actually think about it

Who has a better brain Bulma or Goku?

Also no humans aren't better at ki control lmao

maybe not so much intellegience
but they are stronger
and bulit as such so having a better immune system seems plausible
just the way they are built and story is told they should have a better
immune system even if by a little

but like i said theres really proof either way

Bulma invented a ton of stuff that Goku could only dream of. It's completely asinine if you don't believe that she's smarter, and if you can't see that more humans have higher intelligence than humans.

Raditz was clearly confused by Goku's ability to focus ki into tight areas in order to increase his power. Tenshinhan does this, Krillin does this, Yamcha does this, and Piccolo if you consider that Namekians also have this ability because we see it on Namek.
We never see any Saiyans do this, they clearly don't know anything about ki level control considering that they were shocked when the humans were able to suppress their ki and amplify it.

I don't see what this proves. The Saiyans are a completely different race than humans. Jaco said the virus would only exterminate humans, meaning it was specifically designed to do so. This doesn't mean that Saiyans have superior immune systems. For example, HIV.

http://aids.gov/hiv-aids-basics/hiv-aids-101/what-is-hiv-aids/

A virus that only effects humans. This doesn't mean that we are inferior to others because we get this virus. In turn, there are certain diseases/viruses that we cannot get which other species can.

Sit down son.
