Have any of you heard about Heartbleed? It's apparently a huge internet bug, and I read an article recommending to change all of your passwords, and at one point, it even recommended to not use the net for the next few days. Do you guys think it's something to worry about? |

Changing passwords to vital accounts you have online is always a good idea from time to time. Not all sites use openssl which the exploit is based off, so you'd just have to research if the account you're worried about uses openssl (although they could use it on minor pages, which is a bad idea for consistency imo). Of the top of my head Gmail and google services do tend to use openssl. Paypal doesn't use it and most banks tend not to use it. I'm having trouble believing anything with Google with was really breached tbh. |

I don't even use virus protection most of the time. I think you're only really at danger of you go on porn sites and stuff. I doubt this is true but it's almost like viruses only target you if you have a protector, like they know how to worm their way through Norton or whatever but if you have nothing that makes so little sense that it doesn't bother. Who the f*** wouldn't have virus protection? This guy. Personally I think there are a lot less dangerous things on the internet than there's made out to be, probably so that you buy extortionate protection. |

You personally wouldn't be affected so your internet behavior is irrelevant. It's companies that use a software called "openssl" which are being targeted. I guess you can say it's similar to the time Sony got hacked. Data such as passwords (although encrypted anyway) and other personal information will be leaked. |

I have three virus protection softwares on my computer, one of which scans everything I look at online, as I look at it. I also do quick scans several times a week and a full scan once a week. I think I'm good. |

This is a bug and not a virus. They are two very very different things. This is simply an exploit in a piece of software that provides encryption that allows everything stored in the memory to be read. If you do choose to change your password wait until you've confirmed that the sites have patched the bug (it's really easy to do once they are aware of it). This is a useful link showing what major sites have admitted to being caught out and if they recommend changing your pw's or not. http://mashable.com/2014/04/09/heartbleed-bug-websites-affected/#:eyJzIjoiZiIsImkiOiJfOGtidm9oNDRmMjFyNzJraSJ9 I personally haven't changed much as I have two-tier protection on most of my major sites, however I did update all my servers and such - even though I doubt they'd be targeted. @Steve, off-topic but if you are smart with how you use the internet you'd be fine, however virus protection is useful, if you don't have it the virus won't 'try to worm through it' as there is nothing there to stop them doing whatever they want in the first place? You may not even know you've been affected. |

it's a good idea to have at least basic protection. at least grab one of the free demo antiviruses that run for about 90 days. but yeah, if you aren't downloading anything, it's generally not an issue. i've gotten one virus, on an old computer. ironically, it was when i tried to download an antivirus. i've also got hit with adware once. when i downloaded adblock. yes, the internet has a twisted sense of humor. but yeah, if you're using google chrome, it will tell you if you are about to go to a site known to be dangerous. don't download anything from torrent sites (minus and 4shared have never given me any problems). if you are going to look at porn, stick to major tube sites. there is the big list of porn sites that are safe and generally good quality, but i'm obviously not going to link to it or name it. |

list of canon sources: the DB manga, and the Dr. Slump manga as it applies to the crossover during the rra saga. list of non canon sources: everything else, regardless of origin, format, or quality. for those that blindly follow word of god | |
