The first time, when everyone else died except Gohan, would like to hear some theories.

He either wasn't around similarly to the present timeline, and I'm not sure about the manga but the anime explains that the Z fighters were killed one by one.

Or there was a big battle where everyone got killed and Gohan was knocked out in a pile of ruins from a building and pressumed dead. To make it more dramatic, Piccolo saved his life by knocking him unconcious before he himself got killed.

The resident GT fan!

Because maybe he didn't participate in the fight at all, I think Gohan would have stayed out if the Androids way as the only future hope of defeating the Androids, otherwise when they were fighting them he hide and found some way out lol.

I Yoeri

Trunks explain that all the great warriors were taken out one by one. The androids probably didn't see Gohan as a threat at the moment.

Yet they saw Yajirobe as a danger?

^Good point. Maybe Gohan listened to Chichi's cries since she already lost her husband.

The other explenation left is the Androids themselves let him escape all those years for fun.

I personally think that it would have been so much better had the beginning of the Trunks special spend 5-10 mins of the movies summarising events of the battle, including the aftermath.

The better quesion here is how Gohan managed to survive all those encounters with the Androids for over a decade and not die.

Must be pretty lucky to survive all those encounters!

Thanks for replies, always wondered how he survived, for about 15 years now.

I'm curious, how could Gohan not fight? The same kid that fought Frieza on Namek (at the point the most powerful in their universe) all of a sudden refuses to fight Androids who's power he has no idea about? You could say Chi Chi would stop him but when has that ever stopped him completely?

And assuming he did fight, do you think he was one-shotted similar to Cell v Hercule or do you think he lasted a couple seconds, dodged a couple strikes, maybe got a punch or two in?

Honestly curious how the sequence of events went after Goku dies, if we are ignoring the T.V special intro. I'm basing my theory on that fight vs Nappa and Vegeta.

Probably the Androids find Yamcha and he dies first because he's Yamcha and that's his character's job I guess.

Tien and Chiaotziu may have been next because, besides Krillin, they seemed closest to Yamcha and probably came to his aid as Tien is shown to do at vital times. Chiaotziu self destructs again, Tien may put up a tiny fight but dies before he can tri beam.

Next I think Vegeta finds the Androids, has a back and forth with 18. That witch with the ball, Roshi, Krillin etc rooting him on from their island, before he dies due to stamina issues.

They then find Piccolo who's hiding in his mountains. Gohan and Krillin arrive to help him because he's their last hope, Yajirobe also arrives in his plane with some sensu's from Korin. Androids blow him up before he can land.

A back and forth battle commences, Gohan gets swatted away / saved by Piccolo, Piccolo dies due to Gohan, Kami dies now, Piccolo would have known he had to survive to fuse with Kami but saved Gohan instead.

Androids give Krillin the double whammy and he dies last because he always seems to survive longer than anyone expects.

I'm assuming Androids then kill everyone except Gohan, Bulma and Trunks unless it's mentioned in the manga that Chi Chi, her family and Roshi and his home survive? They probably kill every Dragon Ball ally as well, considering they are Red Ribbon androids.

Only ever watched the cartoon versions (DB, DBZ, DBGT) if it wasn't already obvious, but I seen them a good 50 or so times each so know a bit more than the regular casuals.
