Okay, Kid/Evil Buu is obviously stronger than Fatso.... so how does Goku (SSj 3) go from; 'I don't know if I can beat Fatty..' To fighting on par with Kid/Evil Buu? Not including the 'plot' only argument. Edited by Saiyan Paladin, Apr 10 2014, 05:27 AM.

He did refer to Fat Boo's ki being a lie so he didn't know how much power he still had in store, but then magically knew his full power later on in an effort to mindf*** everybody. In all seriousness he wanted the residents of Earth to take care of the Boo threat, which is why he tried his best to push the work off onto his kids. Only when he was face to face with Kid Boo did he confess to Vegeta that he could've beat Boo and that he intentionally wished to get all of the kids to experience death. |

Plain and simple answer: Goku lied about not being able to defeat Fat Boo. He later admits that he could have done so all along. |

...or you know... he wasn't sure... and then later was sure. Time had passed, knowledge and insight were gained. |

Unless you are referring to Good Buu, I believe that Fat Buu is technically stronger as he and evil Buu were still one. |

What would change his mind though? Fatty wasn't around much longer after Goku went back. |

he knew all along he could win he just flat out lied Goku: “Is that alright? You just might not get your turn…I can say this now, but the truth is that with that fat Boo, I would have been able to defeat him at the time with Super Saiyan 3…However, I wanted the young guys to manage something…For the Earth’s sake too…” |

I don't really trust Goku's judgement considering that he consistently underestimated Kid Boo's abilities. Boo's durability comes from something that's not ki related, therefore I don't believe that Goku could really make a full judgement on if he would've been able to defeat him with SSj3 or not. I really don't see much of a reason to actually think that Fat Boo (Pre-Split) and Kid Boo were really that far apart in power, if at all. The Great Lord of Lord's had Boo absorb him to change his nature, nothing was stated about the absorption making him weaker than his original self. Kid Boo may be faster and less clumsy over-all, but that doesn't mean that he was physically stronger. And if you actually want to take Goku's judgment into account, Goku admitted to Vegeta that he'd been holding back to give him a chance. However, I really don't think that Goku actually knew what Boo was capable of considering that he was shocked that Boo was able to push back the Genki Dama. I'd like to point out that though Goku is holding back, it's implied that Kid Boo is also holding back as well. As Herms states, Boo is basically "lollygagging." as for the topic. I'd give it a similar difference to say KK Goku and Saiyan Arc Vegeta. Kid Boo can't one shot Fatty or anything and if doesn't keep his guard on Boo can get a few hits in. But in the overall run as long as Kid Boo concentrates and keeps up the offense, he'll have a visible advantage over Fatty and will keep Fat Boo on the defensive for most of the fight. |
