MGD.

So what are your guys opinions on the finale of the hit series HIMYM? Many people think that it should of ended differently.

If you have not watched the series, or still not done with it, then I suggest you leave this topic. Wouldn't want to spoil it for yourself.

:( its monday. And im sad. Very very sad actually. Nothing to look forward to anymore. But as i said in another thread, i loved the ending until the last 10 minutes. Barney baby, Ted going after Robin again and worst of all, Teds awesome wife dying in one f***ing episode.

Although i guess it means something that i did not delete it off my DVR after i finished watching it...

I don't think it was terrible, it was just really abrupt. They spent the whole season getting Ted and Tracy together then they kill her suddenly and he's back with Robin.

Is it ever mentioned throughout the show that Ted's eventual wife does die? Does future Ted ever mention that? I think not, otherwise i prolly wouldnt have been so surprised.

It was sorta hinted during a flash forward when they thought Robin's mom wouldn't come to the wedding. Someone, I forget who, said what kind of mom doesn't go to her own daughter's wedding, or something like that, and Future Ted got upset and started crying when he was telling Tracy. It implied that she wouldn't make their daughter's wedding because she'd be dead. It was a theory online for a while after this episode I forget which one it was though.

I think it was so bad because the relationship that couldn't happen, suddenly happened. We understood that Robin and Ted couldn't work because of their different ideals; Yes it was the future and they both fulfilled what they wanted to do so that went out the window - but in terms of the show it was just too sudden.

Like everyone else, I believe it should have ended with the "And that kids, is how I met your mother" with the mother walking in with some hot chocolate or something. Or could even be dying on a bed next to them.

Don't think Robin was a loose end because she got to travel like she wanted to, be a professional reporter. Barney had a kid - that scene summed it up. Lily and Marshall well self explanatory. Even though it may have been a sad ending for Ted - I think Tracy on her death bed next to them would have made more sense.

@WarriorRace: that was a theort online before the final episode? That is some impressive foreshadowing.

During the final episode, at the halloween party,Robin does suggest that she should have ended up with Ted. Definitely didnt expect it to happen. I guess i just cant deal with Robin and Ted again. Ugh i want more even tho season 9 was mostly awful.

Yeah it was. A lot of people online were talking about it for a while before the finale. There was actually another theory about Barney and Robin's wedding not lasting. It was right after the wedding episode. Ted said the wedding was legendary and earlier in the episode Robin told Ted legendary meant "not real" so the theory was that the wedding wasn't real and that it might not last too long.

Wow. Idk if thats a coincidence or not, but i never even noticed that until you pointed it out. Also was anyone massively curious to know who Barney's babymama would be?

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

It didn't even say? I've never really watched this show properly just episodes here or there when it was on TV but I was interested in the ending, it sounds awful though.

...so Ted just tells his kids about all the women he...had relations with and stuff while telling them how he met their mother? That's a bit weird really and why did he need to chronicle his whole life for it :o_O:

Also he refers to Robin as Aunt Robin but they're together, also weird. I mean it would be weird if he said Uncle Barney/Marshal, Aunt Lily and just said Robin but hey your aunt is your stepmom...

They werent together when he was telling the story. The entire show is a flash back until the last like 10 minutes.

On topic though I absolutely loved the ending. But I can see how some wouldn't. It's definitely a love or hate type of ending.

Yeah I wanna know that too. The creators said they'll be releasing a bonus scene with the DVD that will answer a question or some mystery they didn't already answer in the show. So maybe it could be this

@Tonneh: reading what you said earlier about expecting Ted to say: "and that kids is how i met your mother". As nice as that would be for Ted, it would be really boring ending frankly. I mean i was completely shocked when they revealed that Teds wife died of some sickness.

Starting to rethink the ending considering im still thinking about it lol.
