A while ago, rumours started circulating that former WCW champ and TNA founder Jeff Jarrett was planning on rebuying TNA, with country singer, Toby Keith. Apparently, the Carters and Jarrett and Keith couldn't come to an agreement, so they supposedly decided to make a new federation. Jarrett has been hinting at something like this for a while now, and with Sting currently a free agent, AJ Styles being a free agent, and Indie stars like Chris Hero, Matt Hardy and Chavo Guerrero, one could only wonder the star power of his potential federation. What do you guys think of all this? Could it be serious competition to WWE? |

I wouldn't really class Chavo Guerrero and Matt Hardy as indie stars... I mean, they've both been part of the biggest wrestling company in the world which is where I personally draw the line for anybody passing as an indie wrestler any more because the WWE is the mainstream and that's where they were most famous. If anything they're kind of has-beens nowadays I'm sad to say. Those aren't the sort of guys that would draw people to your wrestling show unless the audience you're aiming for is people who used to like Chavo or Matt Hardy back in their WWE days - the nostalgia of it all and their little legacy. I think a lot of people would rather see newer, more exciting talents in any new promotion Jeff Jarrett sets up since over the last few years there's been a lot of older wrestlers from the 90s and early 00s that have kept coming back or refuse to go away and in a few cases people get bored of them. In other cases, such as what's going on with the WWE right now where people desperately want Daniel Bryan to win the championship, people want someone new that isn't the same old Randy Orton or the same old Batista etc and even in TNA I hear there's been a lot more new talent on the show filling the gaps that the likes of Sting and AJ Styles have left behind (not counting MVP or Bobby Lashley of course... still dunno why you'd bring back Bobby Lashley anyway). In regards to Sting in particular, I think he might be closer to closing a deal with the WWE in order to promote WCW stuff on their new network than he would be to going to a new wrestling federation that isn't established in any way even if it's just because WWE can offer more money or they can play up the fact that for all these years Sting has eluded them and now they've finally got him over a barrel if he wants to keep being paid a phenomenal amount of money to wrestle. Don't get me wrong though, I can see where you are coming from. Even WWE has older wrestlers like the New Age Outlaws and Goldust involved with the younger guys to help put them over and bring a little nostalgia to the product, so yeah, Matt Hardy and Chavo could easily do that sort of thing but I don't think that at the ages they are now (39 for Matt and 43 for Chavo) they'd be considered for major roles within Jarrett's new company as in-ring workers. I'm sure they could be involved training wise but if they don't wrestle I doubt we'd be seeing them as ring announcers, commentators or authority figures in the promotion just because they don't fit those types of roles. There are probably some wrestlers who are free agents who you could call on to fill those positions but I think it'd be very hard to base a new promotion around people like that; Matt Hardy especially seeing as he seems to attract the worst kind of publicity outside of the ring. |

I would go to a show for Chavo :3 Another big name that could come, though unlikely, is Kurt Angle. His contract is up soon, but he expressed interest in returning to WWE. Jarrett has made stars out of Styles, the MotorCity Machine Guns, Joe etc. I think whoever he recruits will be in good hands. I could also see people leaving TNA to work with him. I know some wrestlers would prefer to work under him, and Russo being in TNA doesn't help. I'm eager to see the next AJ. Jarrett's next megastar though. I'd also laugh a lot if Punk went to work with him. That'd be a huge blow to WWE. |

Is Russo actually back at TNA then? I heard rumours that he was but nothing confirmed. And yeah I reckon Kurt Angle is more inclined to have a WWE return than go somewhere else. I think he wants to be in the Hall of fame there. Wouldn't be surprised if some people left TNA to go to another promotion if they prefer the ideas and obviously the pay cheque they're offered. I personally haven't watched or seen much of TNA but I listen to a podcast show where they review Raws and TNA and stuff and the TNA shows always sound like a complete mess. |

I'm pretty sure Russo is back with them. That's what I heard. TNA has been a mess, but that's because Dixie Carter doesn't really know wrestling. I think it's been better than WWE in recent weeks. They recently brought in that Tigre Uno and that Japanese guy (Sanada I think his name is) and made a team out of them, and they are spectacular. Their world champion, Magnus is in his first reign, so it's more interesting than another Blandy Borton title run. And the Wolves remind me of Chris Benoit. Is it that they're small muscular guys? Great wrestlers? Have claw slashes on their tights like Chris? I dunno, but they remind me of him, and I like it. And Willow is a refreshing change for Jeff Hardy. |

I've heard the Willow stuff is just terrible, but then I'm one of these people who really enjoys the average and terrible stuff haha though there is a line, but I've not watched Willow so I wouldn't be able to tell if that goes over the line or not. I think the TNA thing where they got some Japanese wrestlers in was a great idea but I think they've poorly executed it. A lot of Japanese wrestling fans probably think that the guys that TNA brought in are a lot better than the TNA guys so surely they should be making more of them than they are? It certainly seems like a Russo trait that they get these foreign talents in and then barely make anything of them - if they start using the stereotype oriental flute music though you'll know he's definitely behind it. Other than the Matt Hardy's and Chavo Guerrero's who would you say Jarrett could sign for this promotion? |

The Japanese recruit won the X Division title in Japan, so he is starting strong, they also brought in the Great Muta for lock down which was amazing. Vito, if you remember him, told Jarrett that he is willing to work for him, as a writer, wrestler, trainer, train scout, so I could see Vito there. Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas seem like they'd have a good chance, and maybe wrestlers in WWE like Fandango and Ziggler who are constantly underused. Other than that, I could see Colt Cabana, Kevin Steen, the Briscos, basically a lot of ROH and Japanese stars lining up because Jarrett will have, without a doubt, the third biggest company in the US if he does it right. David Benoit is also training to become a wrestler, and since WWE won't sign him because of his dad, I could see him turning to Jarrett. |

I think Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas are a good call. What about guys like Paul London, Brian Kendrick, Chris Masters or Carlito? |

Possibly, but I can see Jarrett placing Indy talent/new talent as a higher priority. |
