Ok, just like the vegeta thread, I posted a while back. Which version of the character the liked the most. Or if you hate him, which versions were most tolerable? And a explanation will be most welcome. Also, I didnt any difference between the saiyan saga goku and namek saga goku so I just made them one option. If you think theres a difference please explain, and I may get a may kindly get a mod to edit my poll and make it a separate option. That saying if the explanation is a good one. |

My answer is Goku from the original Dragon Ball, from the start of the hunt for the Dragon Balls all the way to his battle with Majunior. Goku is at his best at this portion of the story, and the fact that he has various personality traits other than love for fighting helps a lot. Here, he was goofy, cheerful and naive. This characteristcs still pop up here and there at "Z", but mostly when the plot calls for some comic relief. I like Goku in all arcs, but it's obvious that he gets more and more stale as the plot progresses. In fact, I think GT got his characterization better than the Boo arc did. Plus, in Dragon Ball, he was actually involved with the plot. Not in a healing tank or sick in a bed waiting for the last minute to save everyone. He actually helped moving the plot forward. I like Goku up until he climbed Karin Tower the most. He was funny, goofy, naive, dumb (To some extent, and in a good way), and is overall kiddy like. For that, I like him the most then, though I like him at any point in the story really, and he's a good main character for sure. |

"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here! This is the war room!"

I actually entirely disagree with that. The whole opting to drag out the fight with Vegeta thing instead of defeating him right away and going to stop Boo was extremely Saiyan-like. In addition to this, opting to not take a blatant advantage such as Fusion because it "wouldn't be fair to Boo" thing are both more Saiyan than anything else he ever did in the series. And then leaving his family at the end without warning was a complete d*ck move. Let's face it, Boo Arc Goku was simply a complete a**hole. |

Not really. - He left Earth because he knew that SSJ Gotenks would be enough to beat Fat Buu - He let Vegeta fight Buu longer because he didn't have the right power to do so. - He left with Uub to make sure someone would defend Earth in his place. Buu Saga Goku aint as bad as people make him out to be Edited by Yusuke, Apr 2 2014, 03:39 AM.

I voted Saiyan-Namek Goku. That, to me, was the climax of his character development. Once Goku had gone SSJ (and had the series stopped there been the LSSJ), that was all that was really left to be done with him. I'm not a Goku hater by any means, I just became bored with him after that and was ready to see someone else in the spotlight, or more of an ensemble cast like in early Dragon Ball.

Goku after he climbs Korin' tower, is my pick. The series of fights after that point were great. He'd let his opponent take a shot at him and come back with something like "that was pretty good, but now it's my turn." |
