Also, Hercule is arrogant, and not as good at strategy compared to Gohan. So Gohan takes this. A Budokai win means nothing for him sense his opponents were all about the same as him in strategy, tactics, and training. The same Gohan who got out-smarted by Super Buu?! The same Gohan who was actually unable to realize Goku's plan against Yakon?!

The guys is to scared when he sees someone outdo himself in his area, in this case martial arts brains and skills.

Google Chrome	Hercule showed off some decent tactics against Fat Buu and Kid Buu Now that you put it that way, I was probably wrong strategy wise. Still, I don't see why Gohan after 8 years of slacking would be superior to Hercule
