What would you say are better? Question crossed my mind and I can't think of an answer... Movies can be terrible(Alien vs Ninja) or can stick with you all your life. TV shows can be incredibly gripping for weeks on end, and then get really really crap as they go on, ruining the glory they used to have(Hey there, Dexter) While movie sequels or remakes can be god awful the first or original movie is still a finished story unlike with a TV series, say Dexter again where it starts getting meh after the 3rd season or so, while everything is good up to then there is no real ending to it so you can't find that same kind of fulfillment from disregarding the other 5 seasons of a series as you could one or two lame sequels to a movie, plus the show could get cancelled mid season where movie doesn't usually. But then if a TV show is excellent and has 20 episodes a season each 40 minutes long that's like 10 excellent movies so they can kind of even themselves out. What would you say? Movies seem more exciting but TV shows grab hold of you... |

Movies tend to be a bit lame IMO. I'm usually bored until the middle of the movie then I get bored again towards the end again. TV Shows are more well paced and every episode peaks your interest. The plots tend to be more better laid out and not confined to an hour an half like a movie does. Plus, I don't like being in movie theaters lol. |

I don't like to compare the two. Movies are usually for a night and a TV-show usually goes on for a longer time. There's obviously backsides to both. Movies can be terrible and you can feel you've wasted 2 hours watching it, while a TV-show can lose it's charm and quality the longer it keeps going. |

I don't mean going to the theater just movies in general, though that is a plus for many can't go watch a TV show on an iMAX screen. I think these days the only movies that are really disappointing are adaptions or remakes, original movies tend to be good and have a higher budget so better actors generally. But they don't give you the same kind of weekly tension a TV show does, if it's something like Walking Dead where you have a whole week to wonder if a certain character is kicking the bucket or surviving. In an absolute choice situation, would probably pick movies but only by a small percent. Though that might just be because there's not a lot of TV shows I'm watching currently. |

I prefer television shows when they're actually good, but unfortunately most of the ones I've seen have either been lame, not worth it, or got worse as the series progressed. The only show I watch religiously is The Walking Dead. Others that I watch (but not so religiously) are Vikings, American Horror Story, and... The Big Bang Theory? Yeah, I guess that's it. It seems to take a lot of time and investment. |

It's difficult to compare the two. I guess movies are for people who enjoy a beginning and conclusion within 1-3 hours whereas those who enjoy tv series enjoy the long haul of following characters on their journeys week by week. For me personally it's been all about Tv shows lately. There's so many brilliant shows out there such as Breaking bad, Game of thrones, The walking dead, House of cards etc. As long as it's good I'm happy with either. |
