When Goku originally went up to Kami's lookout, Karin told him that kintoun couldn't go that high, and the nyoibo was the only way to get up there. Did Toriyama forget about this? How was it that the Z fighters got up there in the saiyan arc? And didn't Bulma get up there in a plane in the Android arc? |

I think of a few things... - The Kintoun just can't go that high. - You need permission to go up there. - You need to have proven yourself to get up there. I particularily remember something being said about my second point. Might be dub, but I don't know. |

There was no link between Karin Tower and Kami's Palace when that thing about the Kintoun was stated. Kami's Palace exists in a different dimension than Earth. However, we also never see the Kintoun go up that high. When Goku returns to Earth in the Saiyan Arc, he falls to Karin Tower, where he gets picked up by the Kintoun. However, the Power Pole is the link between Earth (Karin Tower) and Kami's Palace. Without it in place linking the two, the Palace can't be reached from Earth. The Power Pole is never taken out after Goku puts it in. Even though we see it in future movies, that's a gaping plot hole. Edited by Ketchup Revenge, Mar 3 2014, 03:25 AM.

Karin states it right after Goku defeats King Piccolo and goes back to Karin Tower.

Very interesting. This was not in the translated version of the manga (at least not in my own country) |

It may have been stated in the FUNI dub, but I'm not sure. |

Not that I remember. Then again, I can't remember that part too well. Need to watch it again. |

Very interesting stuff. I don't remember that from the anime and have not read that far in the manga. I sas not aware of Kami's lookout being in another dimension. Thank you for that. |

You're welcome. Well, to be entirely honest, it doesn't directly state that it's in another dimension, but it does state that you can't reach it from Earth without the Nyoibo in place, and that the Palace has a repulsive force if the link isn't present. I usually simply translate this as it's in a separate dimension, or at least not in the same plain of existence as Earth. It could be the same concept as Kaiosama's planet not exactly existing in Other World, but the way to physically reach it is from the Other World via Snake Way. The reason we know it doesn't exist in Other World because Goku can use Instant Transmission to get there. I also believe that Kami's Palace not actually being in the same plain of existence as Earth is stated in one of the Daizenshuus as well. I don't own all the manga volumes, but that was just one that I happen to own. So we got lucky

Yes, there's the Heavenly Realm, which is Kami and Dende's Lookout, and then there's the Lower or Living Realm from Korin's Tower and below. When it comes to Nimbus and the Power Pole, I think it has something to do with permission. Didn't Goku have to use a bell when he met Popo anyway? It just seems like a permission kind of deal all the way to me. If permission isn't it, then Bulma's plane may be a plot hole since something was said about not even the best rockets could reach that high or something. |

I'd be willing to waive that considering Bulma's a smart cookie. Her dad built several ships that could be launched into space, and she in a lot of ways is even smarter than he is. I don't think building a rocket to get you to Kami's Palace would be that much of a challenge. |

Given the fact that Nimbus is a cloud, we could assume that it cant go above the troposphere. And
That didnt exist in the Swedish version either |

This info about Kami's temple is interesting, but I'm not sure on it's veracity. I checked two pretty accurate versions of the manga, and neither of them mentioned it. edit: Oh, never mind. I found a mention to the "repulsive force" that won't let people approach when they come close to the temple on the Kintoun. Edited by Topographic Oceans, Mar 4 2014, 12:07 PM.
