2.) Mr. Toriyama has largely fallen out of love of DBZ.

The later of which is of real concern. In most interviews he has shown numerous times his rather lack luster enthusiasm for the material. He has openly admitted to forgetting the story cannon, even to go as far to forget there was 3 super saiyan levels.
If that were the case, I don't think he would still be doing things like stepping in to get involved with a new movie after DBE turned out horrible (partially because Fox ignored his input), writing an entire new story set as a prequel to DB (Jaco), and so forth.

Maybe he became tired of and disenchanted with DB back when he was still writing it, and had to deal with the frustrations of weekly deadlines and editorial meddling. But nowadays? He seems to enjoy how he still works with DB hands-on but doesn't have to do ALL the work like back in the day.
The impression I got from his interviews was that he wasn't a hardcore fan of his own work. There are people on this very forum for example that can name every character, and episode, along with their Ki level from memory. But Mr. Toriyama doesn't seem to (or really want to) have that level of dedication. Maybe at one point in time he did, but now he seems like a tired older man past that point in his life. And after 20 years of Dragon Ball can you really blame him? No matter what other work he does Dragon Ball overshadows it and thats all people talk to him about.

In a lot of ways his attitude reminds me of George Lucas. I remember seeing an interview with Lucas and Seth Macfarlane. During the interview it became painfully clear that Seth actually was more knowledgeable and passionate about Star Wars then Lucas was. Seth played a game where he would "hum" the music of different scenes to see if Lucas could guess which scene the music went to. Lucas reaction was like.. what the hell are you talking about, leave me alone.

Was Oob well received by Japanese fans? I never got the impression that this character has potential, I don't think people really care. And at this point Boo has become so irrelevant since GT and now the new BOG.

I can guarantee all of you if they try a DBZ series set with new characters it will bomb. Goku, Gohan and Vegeta are a confront zone for the fandom if they tried to do more descendents the only way I could see is if there was a lot of cameos from the original group.

I know it will never happen but t he fan in me would love to see a DBZ/sailor moon crossover still.

Before adding new material, I would like it if they would remaster Dragon Ball on BD all the way down to sound quality - I love Dragon Ball to death, but it could really benefit from being remastered.

As far as actual new material goes, I'm not sure. I loved Goten and Trunks as kids, but I didn't like either at EoZ. Nor did I like Uub. Therefore, solely regarding my preferences, I would rather the focus continue on Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo; I know concentrating on the former three, along with Gohan, is the correct idea (if there is a correct idea).

What would be ideal for me is, after EoZ, we get a season-long tournament saga with all the Z characters. A tournament styled like the intergalactic tournament in the Bojack movie (I only mean in terms of layout, limiting them to the world tournament would be a nuisance). I would find this, while maybe pointless plot-wise, extremely enjoyable.

It probably wouldn't do as well, but I don't think it would bomb entirely.

The problem with using the characters we already know is that they're too strong. There's no substance that can be drawn from the plot now, which is why the series hasn't been extremely popular since the Freeza arc, which was the last time that we could call it an honest adventure series with plot substance other than "I'm gonna beat the piss outta you."

I disagree with you there. I think there were adventure elements all the way up to the Cell games considering the Z fighters tracking down Androids, Androids looking for Goku and then there's Cell who is going from town to town causing terror and then all these circumstances meet eachother at one point. The only fights up to the Cell games, aside from 17 vs Piccolo, were short skirmishes or quick beatdowns. I think you're talking more about the Dragonballs no longer being the main element of the story which is a fair point. But to counter that argument I would say that the same can be said about the storylines always being on the line of "bad guy tries to get Dragonballs to make evil wish to benefit himself".

I think a prequel series about the saiyans would be cool. Seeing bardock and his squads adventures and vegetas adventures with nappa and raditz. More of frieza and his family too
