Avatar 2...seriously... Godzilla looks fairly monstrous  Wonder if he has the laser thing? Like most remakes it seems like it will have a semi-scientific basis so if it does have that how will they explain it... Actually is original Godzilla a male a female or an it? I only know that 1998 is a female. Hal's gonna save the day! |

The sad thing is that they're not. All are confirmed movies, and Avatar is supposed to be a trilogy. It was an overrated movie... Edited by Ketchup Revenge, Feb 28 2014, 03:57 AM.

'98 Zilla wasn't a female, I don't think. It was both. I'm sure they had that debate in the movie itself. Original Godzilla was a male by default IIRC. That or an "it."
It was a trash movie as far as I'm concerned, but I'm biased since I had to witness the over-saturation of it in full force with my girlfriend at the time being a huge fan of it and the media never shutting up about it... |

I for one would welcome a Godzilla/Cthulhu hybrid. I'm cautiously optimistic that this will be worth the watch. Won't be any worse than the last one anyway. |

Is that the movie with the blue people? It was a pretty good movie. Don't know what they'd do for a sequel, but I think it'd be cool. I remember it got so much hype because of the 3D (I think it was one of the first) |

Gohan what's your sig from? Looks familiar... OT I hope Godzilla is really successful so that more monster movies are made, good ones anyway. If it wasn't found footage crap, Cloverfield 2 would be cool. |

That's the comedian from Watchmen, iirc. Cloverfield was pretty alright and that ending leaves things open for a sequel. |

MG's sig and avi are from Arrow. Cloverfield was bad. The only part I liked was when the military randomly showed up with the bullets flowing, the guys shouting, the tanks firing. That's the s*** that gets me. The rest of the movie I didn't care for, and I wish that monster wasn't just "a baby," because it left the door open for people to say the adult could very well top Godzilla...which nothing can. Ever. Because he's Godzilla, hence the title "King of all Monsters." Before that becomes a rant, I'll cut it short. I just want a good Godzilla movie that the States can be proud of. |

I know people were hating because it didn't win Best Picture at the Oscars that year, because The Hurt Locker won over it... which was an EXCELLENT movie, by the way. This "Avatar vs Hurt Locker" was also a noted competition between James Cameron and Katheryn Bigelow because they were ex- husband and wife, and she directed the Hurt Locker while he did Avatar. So her movie not only won best picture that year, but she won Best Director as well. Other people were upset because the Social Network didn't win that year, which also was an incredibly overrated movie in my opinion. Independent films to me as of the past 10 years have far more substance than any Hollywood blockbuster has, and it shows considering that as of the past ten years or so, an independent film has won Best Picture almost every year at the Oscars. There will Be Blood is one of my favorites that's won over the past several years, which I believe was '06 or '07. Edited by Ketchup Revenge, Feb 28 2014, 06:57 PM.
